I called IRCC to ask about the status of my citizenship file since there has been no progress on it for 9 moths since I did the test (background check not completed yet) They said they transferred my file to Vancouver for the background clearance. Is this normal?

Corrected" It has been noticed lately that fingerprint requests come from the Vancouver office. The good news is that your application is moving on, and you might get a fingerprint request email."

Hi, is it true that IRCC has opened another office in Vancouver ? My file has been transferred to Vancouver office from GTA, I did not know its a separate office for backlog cases.
Corrected" IRCC has opened 3 Backlog Reduction Offices (BRO) in Vancouver BC, Niagara Falls ON, and Montreal QC

Thanks for noting this. I stand corrected, I got confused between the IRCC update and Forum. It has been noticed lately that the Vancouver office is the one sending out fingerprint requests. Hence the transfer of the file to the Vancouver office for the background check stage could be considered a positive sign that the application is moving on, not stalling.
I corrected earlier posts to avoid confusion
