Hi Dream 23,

Did you get any response from New york ??? Did you send any e mail to New york?

hi Srikanthsas,
no, no any news from NYC. And i'm becoming very stressed about it. :(
May be i'll send them email first week of december, when i get 90 days after "in process".
what are your plans?
best wishes

Hi Dream 23,

I will send e mail in first week of December too, i hope in this month we may get some news from new york. hope for the best :) :)

on 03 Nov they said

This is in response to your email (see below).
The status of your application has not changed since our last reply to you.
Please understand that our office cannot provide you with an update of case status by email on a regular basis, but rest assured that we will contact you for the next stage of the processing of your file.
In order to serve all clients better, we will be unable to answer further correspondence at this time.
For future reference, in all correspondence to our office, please refer to the applicant's full name, date of birth and file number.
Thank you for your interest in Canada.

Tell you what .. i know a person who did not include IELTS exam results in his packet and din even do a self-declaration and still got his file number. Although this happened before 26/6; in early part of this year. And then we see people getting return of their files for the most ordinary errors. So if you ask me was that an error on CIC's end, I would say no cos that guy who got his File number had otherwise very healthy academics and experience. Rest you know...

any body got news in this week???Please update.....

idk why it's taking so long.. and that's something I really want to know
my lawyer said to be cool coz there's nothing we can do to 'hurry' them..
what concerns me is that my work permit is also late.. I applied for an extention back in september and it still hasn't arrive.. my current work permit expires in december 31st..
so both the PR and work permit late.. great

IN your case, the 90 day rules has pass for long. You have the right to know the answer, nearly all other member similar to your time lines received PPR already few months back. Your lawyer should provide you the exact answer somehow.

Hi Guys.. I just wanna know where I can see the 90 days rule mentioned above, I'm sorry if it's something obvious, but I just can't find it on CIC website. Could anyone please help me?

hi Foreignsaurus,
basically that's what they say in their email when they transferred file to NYC starting like

"In order to expedite the processing of your application, your file has been sent to:
Canadian Consulate General
1251 Avenue of the Americas
Concourse Level
New York,"

below there is a line in email:

"Do not request the status of your file within ninety (90) days of the date of this letter."

Hi, dream23,

Thanks for your reply, however, that's not really a rule, it's more a request for us not to keep asking the process status as they won't reply anyway.

I was under the impression that there was a rule regarding the time they are supposed to update you after the medical exam, which is where I am now; I've done the exams and still haven't received the passport request or rejection of application.. december 4th will be 4 months since they have received my exam results.. and that worries me that nobody ever contacted me or my lawyer.. so when smallduck said that about the 90 days rule, I started looking for specific rules, precedures or any type of guideline for response times. Still couldn't find it.

But anyway, on December 6th, which is two weeks from now, I'm planning to contact someone there about it in case it hasn't arrived yet.

Thanks again

Good luck for all.

HI Every body,

any up dates ???Please share.

my file was transferred to LA Oct.26, in the email it says that they should not be contacted within the 90 day period. but I sent the RPRF on Nov.19th and needed to confirm if the money order was placed in our file, so I sent a case specific enquiry and at the same time I asked about the status of my application.

They replied, told me they have the payment for RPRF and that my file is still under review. They also told me not to contact them again until they have finished the review. ;D My problem is, they did not give a date when it will be finished. They never give a date actually, so how would I know when to follow up again.

So, I think there's nothing wrong with asking about the status of our application. Worst thing that can happen is that they will not reply, or in my case I was told to stop asking them about the status. ;D ...but that's just me, some people might think otherwise
