Friends,

I was wondering how much usually does it takes to get the Passport Request after the medical is done and sent to Ottawa. Seniors who already got PPR please advise.. your help is appreciated.
My medical was done in mid march 2012.

Thanks

I did my medical March 14, 2012, sent receipts day after with express post to NYVO. And I got my passport request in the mail April 5, with it dated March 30. I'd imagine they're pretty quick, but I guess it depends on how fast your DMP sends the results.

Hi,
last week i got a call from my friend saying that he received my medicals. i am using his house address as he owns house and i keep moving every 6 months. so i asked him to forward it to my home address and he did it the same day. Unfortunately the USPS guys missed the package and now i don't know what to do. should i contact New York office and ask them to resend the forms or should i download medical forms from cic web site and do my medicals? i don't know if they have requested for any additional documents along with medicals, in that case i may miss my time line if i simply do medicals and not submit other documents. seniors please advice on how to proceed further. I am still following up with USPS guys with little hope.

Hi emjay025,

Its been 3 months since I have done my medicals (Completed medicals on January 17th, 2012 and sent receipts the day after to NYVO), I have not yet received my PPR. Should I just wait or send an email to NYVO asking for an update? Did you receive your PPR by email or by regular mail?

Thanks for your help

Taking a look at the copy of my medical request there is this line:
"If you have complied with all instructions and undertaken all steps, allow 90 days before requesting status of your application."

If it really has been 90 days, I would send an inquiry asking for an update.

From what I hear on this forum, many people received their PPR by email, but I received mine by regular mail.

Emjay025,

I did send a email to get an update on my PPR on Tuesday 17th, the PPR was sent to me the next day by email. The PPR letter was dated Feb 28th - I was happy but little pissed that they dint send me the letter for so long. Thanks for your advice and help.

Cheers

Nice, same thing happened with me with the medicals. In any case, at least you didn't have to wait for postage! Hope all goes well. I sent copies of my passport early last week, as I'm from a visa-exempt country.

For anyone who's already passed this step, how long did you have to wait for your visa to be issuied and receiving the COPR?

Hi kun007,

I was just wondering during this wait time when your PPR was issued but not probably mailed by consulate, what was the status in eCAS (online status website)... was it In-Progress or decision made.. ?
or whats the status in eCAS now?

Thanks

Hi all,

My file transferred to NY office on Oct. 26, 2011 I got medical on Dec. 10. I have done all medical examinations on Dec. 12. I am still waiting for PPR after more than 4 months. Is there any one having the same situation.

kun007 was in same situation probably, but his/her PPR has recently been received 3-4 days back, dated Feb 20 or something.... it was issued in FEB but probably not mailed by consulate. My medical request was also received late (15 days after issue date). What is your status in eCAS btw in Process or Decision Made ?

Hi scb2012,

Thank you for your reply, It say "in process", "medical results have been received". I sent an email to get updated about my file around a month ago but they did not reply.

If they're still as quick as when I emailed them, it should take around 24 hours from when you sent the inquiry.

If you're curious, why don't you email NYVO with a case specific inquiry. Wouldn't hurt. It seems like a couple people, myself included, had progress on their file once they sent an inquiry, especially if they've been waiting for awhile.
