file transfer between local offices

Hi,

I sent my application 14 months ago and back then I was living in Ottawa. I moved to Toronto 8 months ago and I did let CIC know about my address change. However, when I called them last week, I was informed that my application has been transferred to Ottawa. They placed a notice on my application to transfer if from Ottawa to Toronto. Has any body here experienced such event? Do you know how long would it take to transfer to Toronto?

I have the same problem. I moved to Mississauga however, my file is transferred to Ottawa. CIC call center told me that it may take 2-3 months to transfer the file.

Good luck with the wait time. When did you apply? Would you please share your timeline?

Sent the application in Nov. 2012
processing started in April 2013
it was transferred to Ottawa in Jan. 2014

what is your time line? how long have you been waiting to transfer from Ottawa to Toronto already?

I called cic call center. They send a file transfer e-mail to Ottawa. Did you talk with them?

If I were in your shoes I would call to CIC and ask them to transfer the file. The sooner the better.
