I think the new rule is to process the other family members’ applications separately automatically without a request. But they didn't indicate RQ.

What happens to my family’s applications for citizenship if there is a problem with one of our applications?

You and your family can apply for citizenship together by including your applications in one envelope. Your applications will be processed together. If one or more of the applications are missing necessary information or documents, all of the applications in the envelope will be returned.

If we receive the necessary information and documents, adults between 18 and 54 will be invited to write the citizenship test.

After the test, you or a family member may be asked to:

Re-write the written test
Attend an oral interview with a citizenship judge
If this happens, we will process the other family members’ applications separately. This process might mean that they will attend an earlier citizenship ceremony and become citizens faster than the one re-writing the test or attending the interview.

CIC will tell you before we process your family’s applications separately. We will also send you a form that you can use to ask us to process the applications together. If you want the applications processed together, we will pause the other family members’ applications until after the second test or interview.

If citizenship is then granted after the second test/interview, all family members will attend the same ceremony.

Well it definitely is a sign that your application is progressing but the reason i asked that question because i noted in your earlier post as you mentioned everything was good with you it was just your wife file as she got RQ, you getting fingerprint request was kind of strange to me.

This is what the CIC help centre told me a while ago. Last call they advised that they are no longer allowed to separate files when there is a residency issue so we have been advised that my file will now be in queue with my wife’s awaiting the outcome of the residency questionnaire. But the request for RCMP fingerprinting makes me confused about the current status of our application!!

Thats what i am saying too that you passed the test and all was well with your file so why are they making you go through fingerprinting and stuff??? The only delay you guys had was your wife RQ right???
