Arg, I'm sorry, I gave you wrong advice. The CEC is also for NOC 0, A, and B. So sorry...

The AEO will not help you if it is not skill level 0,A, or B.

What province are you in?

Can I Send the Application to get work permit and permanent visa together. Because I can get a job offer for work permit. This way I feel the job security.....

22=3 year computer diploma
21=work experience
05=relative in canada
10=age

67=Total Point / 100

Which is better

1. Work Permit
2. PR
3. PR after Work Permit
4. PR and Work Permit Together

1. Work Permit doesn't require
proof of fund
relative in Canada
medical exam
POint System 67/100
ielts
and less processing fees and job security
100% visa

2. PR require
proof of fund
relative in Canada
medical exam
POint System 67/100
ielts
and more processing fees and No job security
VISA depends on document....

3. PR after Work Permit doesn't require
proof of fund
relative in canada ( but I have )
point system ( because I got 15 point for arrange employment )
ielts ( less ielts score )
100 % VISA

4. Can I apply for a Temporary Work Permit and a Canada Immigration Visa?

Yes, you can. You may apply for a Temporary Work Permit on its own or in combination with an application for a Canada Immigration Visa. Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) recognizes the concept of "dual intent" whereby, you desire to work in Canada temporarily and thereafter reside and work in Canada permanently.

3. Can I apply for Permanent Resident status and Temporary status at the same time?

You can apply for Permanent Resident status and Temporary status at the same time. Canadian Immigration policy recognizes the concept of dual intent.

Thanks JES_ON. i m in B.C.

So you mean even for Qualifing CEC The JOB should be skill 0,A,B.

To get 5 Points for having a year experience in Canada under Adaptibility in FSW, i should have Skill 0,A,B or any full time experience(i mean NOC 6641 Skill D ) will be counted?

kapilraval82,

Yes, unfortunately, CEC is for O,A,B too. I think yes, after one year, you could apply to FSW to get those extra five 5 points - you have at least one year of work experience in a skilled occupation from before, yes?

BUT - the reason I asked about province - you CAN apply through the provincial nomination program (PNP). Your employer first has to apply - then you apply - and if approved, you THEN apply for PR and get priority processing.

http://www.aved.gov.bc.ca/provincialnominee/welcome.htm

In BC, food counter positions qualify! (Not true in all provinces).

http://www.aved.gov.bc.ca/provincialnominee/strategicoccupations/entrylevel.htm

on this site, there is also a forum for PNP applicants. Check it out!

irfan_education,

For the temporary work permit (TWP), you need to have an employer first. New regulations are proposed that will limit temporary workers to 4 years in Canada. So if you want to stay, you will have to apply for PR, either before or after coming here. If you can get an offer of permanent employment, you can apply for PR before you come, and no need for a TWP.

"at the same time" might be a little misleading - they are separate applications. You can apply for PR while holding a TWP. If you have a TWP, you can apply for PR once you are in Canada, IF your employer will offer you a "permanent" job.

The terms of the job offer for the TWP are not the same as for the PR. The two other members on this thread (including myself) both have TWPs and are in Canada, but our jobs do not qualify for "arranged employment" under the Skilled Workers program.

If you can tell us the details of your job offer - NOC code, hours per week, length of employment - we can advise better.

I have 5 years of Experience in Computer Science/ Information Technology Area.
My NOC Code are
4131 Computer Trainer / Instructor / Teacher 4 years
2174/2175 Software Developer / Web Designer & Developer

The process of Work Permit is being done by lawyer her in india. They offer to get the job offer from Employer of Toronto . I mean, I will work in toronto. It is 2 Years Work permit. Salary 4000 Canadian Dollar approximately but not sure now. I have to work 8 hours/ day and 6 days / week, It means 48 hours/ week. And the post will be Computer Billing Operator, Computer Operator, Help Desk Operator.

Actually I do not know the employer, process is by lawyer so I can not force them to give me permanent job, I think It will be for 2 years temporary. I do not know the NOC Code of Computer Billing Operator and it's Skill Category O,A,B,C or D. Can I get the 15 point for my job offer of 2 years.

Please Advice me whether it is good to come this way on work permit. I want work in software developing area. After coming on work permit, If I search JOb for software developer and employer offer me for permanent job offer, Can I apply for PR?

Pls show me the right way, because You have already experience going this way...

Thank a lot....

kapilraval82, You said that CHC, ND rejected your case. But I want to know that whether CIO, NS has first approved it? If yes, then it is very strange.

irfan_education,

Most likely the NOC will be 1431 - you can check the description & duties here
http://www5.hrsdc.gc.ca/NOC/English/NOC/2006/ProfileQuickSearch.aspx?val=1&val1=1431&val65=billing

If this is correct, it is Skill Level C, meaning the job would NOT make you eligible for immigration under the Skilled Worker or CEC program, under current rules. No, you would not get 15 points.

If you took this job, your only hope would be to get a job offer from another employer at a higher skill level (O,A,B) (or possibly get a promotion offer from this employer to a supervisory position before the end of your two years).

Sorry, I don't know what to suggest. You could tell your lawyer only O,A,or B-level positions, but that might be really difficult ...

I have tried to search the NOC code for computer operator/Billing Operator. It is NOC:6611 for cashiers.

The Link is
http://www5.hrsdc.gc.ca/NOC/English/NOC/2006/Profile.aspx?val=6&val1=6611

And It is in Skill Type D Category
The Link is
http://www5.hrsdc.gc.ca/NOC/English/NOC/2006/html/Matrix.html

I am confuse to take the decision, where to start my process of visa....Work Permit or PR. Because Agents can only able to search job of Category C or D. They will not search a job of Skill Category A or B.

If I am on Work Permit with the NOC Code 6611 Cashiers and I apply for the PR on later stage, I know well that I will not get 15 point for Arrange Employment But Can I get the relaxation about the proof of funds. On later stage, I have to submit my bank statement to show the proof of fund or not, because The job is Skill category of D.

Thanks a lot.......

irfan_education,

The only way you will be eligible to apply later is if you get a permanent job offer in a high-skilled position (O,A,B). IF you can get that permanent job offer, you will qualify for "arranged employment" and no proof of funds are required (at this time).

Hi Jes_on

My employer open the Form http://www.hrsdc.gc.ca/eng/workplaceskills/foreign_workers/forms/emp5275e.pdf for AEO. The first question is Do you intend to employ the skilled worker before he/she becomes a permanent resident? YES or No. While i m already working in this restaurant Under NOC D. he wants to offer me skill job to support my PR application. What he should do?

What should be the minimum salary he should mention as per the canadian wage for restaurant manager position?(my current salary for food counter attendant is 11.31 CAD.)

What does the length of time the offer of employment is open mean? (that he will have to mention in the offerletter on his letter head)

Yeesh. Good question. Different job, same employer - the instructions don't consider that. Even though you are already in Canada, you ARE allowed to get an AEO from within Canada, but from the same employer? I think your employer should call HRSDC and ask. He/she will have to explain that you are currently working in a different position, and that you will NOT be employed in this new position until you have obtained PR. I think it should be OK.

About salary, "that depends" - on type of restaurant, experience, etc. Go to www.jobbank.gc.ca, search for "restaurant manager" in your area, and look at the salaries posted for similar restaurants, and go from there.

As they will know it is a "promotion" for you, it would be appropriate to be at the lower end (beginning) of the salary range, probably around 30,000/year. But do a search to be sure - if it looks wrong to HRDSC, they will reject it.
