file has been transferred to local CIC office

My wife applied for her study permit extension and I applied for my spouse dependent open work permit extension with her on July 30, 2019. They said it’s transferred to Edmonton office in November 2019. It’s almost gonna be one year and still no response from. My wife has finished her studies too. Now should she apply for work permit or wait for her SP extension to come back? What bout me should I apply with her or what?
Damn I know how stressing it can be. Anybody in the same boat ?

Even I applied for my work permit last year on May 22, 2019. No update yet. Still waiting for their response and we can’t do anything as our files are still in process.
 
I have applied for study permit extension on 20th oct 2019 and file was transferred to local Ircc Edmonton office on 28th jan and last month on 24th June officer sent me mail to submit some docs(transcript, financial support document) so i sent them same day and next day on 25th june i got my extension!

They told 9 months after file received at Edmonton. Mine received at 30 nov 2019
And said review date 29 aug 2020
