Hi everyone, i recently put in an ATIP request on my partners file due to the fact he believed he accidentally misrepresented himself in a previous paper application by answering incorrectly to the any previous unauthorized work question on a work permit application and wanted to double check.

However, we have just got the ATIP file and it states 'Please note that we cannot provide you with the complete physical file W*........* since that file has been destroyed.

This was the paper file that we believes he misrepresented himself on.

Does this mean that they have no trace of it whatsoever?

and if so, should we include a LOE regardless explaining what he did just to be sure?

Thankyou.

You should always explain and answer truthfully. They may not have the physical file but GCMS notes may include what he said in the application, which would show the lie.

Thanks for your responses, i will be honest and enter the LOE with his app. Also, can i see the GCMS notes on the ATIP file? i see all of the previous applications scanned, but no GCMS notes. Is that normal or am i being dumb?

You applied for the wrong thing. You need to request the notes - not the application. The application has been destroyed. However all of the notes related to the application are still in IRCC computer systems.

Thankyou. Do you know if the GCMS notes have details of previous work experience on them? As in the job title, and dates entered? As if so i'll apply for them now before we put in the PR application so we have full clarity of what he wrote down.

Hi everyone. We just got his GCMS notes back today and there is no mention whatsoever of his unauthorized work/misrepresentation throughout.
What should we do in the next step? Should we just be upfront and include a LOE/ show proof of us trying to contact them previously via Webform to fix the issue, or should we just continue on and not raise the issue?

Thanks again guys.
