Hello all,

The rules changed now and immediate family are allowed to visit.
According to the new rules, a marriage certificate is required, but we haven't been able to get married because of the border closure.

I'm Canadian, my fiance is German with a valid eTA and we have a valid marriage license.
We would like him to come to Canada for our civil marriage, he won't be staying yet.

Does anyone know if it's possible to obtain a permit or exception for a fiance visit?
We are in this weird situation because we are unable to get married due to these border closures.

TIA.

Unfortunately a fiance doesn't meet the definition of a family member. He can try requesting an exception but quite likely it won't be granted and he'll need to wait until the travel restrictions are relaxed.

Hi, thanks for your message. Are you familiar with the process to request an exception? We would like to try.

Wondering if anyone here had any experiences connecting with this travel exception mailbox and if there are any recommendations to improve my chances of getting an approval.
