Hello everyone, I am about to finish my 11th month of work (NOC B) and will be applying for PR via CEC in a few months. I was considering hiring a lawyer to help with the process. I was wondering:

1. When should I approach them? Is one month before applying too short?
2. Approximately how much will it cost (I guess this question is mostly towards people who have hired one before)?

Hiring a lawyer is hardly required for standard cases (e.g. no deportation, criminality, medical issues), since PR application is generally filling a long, tedious and time consuming, but quite straightforward online form.

If you go with a lawyer you will still have to collect all documents by yourself, the lawyer essentially tells you what documents you need and fills an online form. He/she has also no responsibility, if he/she screws up you may be left holding the bag.
Estimates varies, but I have seen lots of "standard" PR cases around CAD 4000-5000 (from start to landing with CoPR).

I really think that with this forum, you don't need a lawyer. Everything you need is here. Unless you have money to waste.
