Few important points for medical test

Hi All,

My wife, daughter (6 months), son, (5 years) and I have taken the medical test yesterday.
Would like to share few points with you all.
1) 5 years or more : Has to go for general physical check up and urine test only. Chest X-ray and blood
test are not required.
2) Less than 5 years : Only general check up. Chest X-ray, blood, urine tests are not required.
3) Be careful about blood pressure : Acceptable limit is 90/130. One has to go for ECG and KUB if BP is
higher that the given limit.
4) Children will be checked to find out if they are physically/mentally handicapped.
5) Please carry discharge/fit certificate if any of you/family member has undergone any operation.

are you sure about this? if the BP is higher than this, the med will directly ask you to do ECG or wait for CHC's instructions for the same?

Did the doctor tell you this or you read it somewhere. My BP is always 150/100....!

i've had a medical from a DMP for my canadian work permit last year in pretoria. i believe it's the same as the one for PR. my BP was 140/90 and the DMP did not ask me to do any futher test. my wife's BP was 110/60 which is low but again the DMP did not ask her to do any additional tests.
but on the other hand, a friend of mine did his medical from the same DMP from pretoria, his BP was 140/90 just like mine and the DMP asked him to do further tests including ECG and Kidney etc.
i could only conclude that this depends upon the general health and age. how healthy and medically fit you are may make DMP decide if he should send you for further tests or not. i was 31 at the time of medicals and my friend was 45.

I never had any idea about this BP thing. Came to know when the doctor checked my BP and it came slightly on the higher side (95/110). They asked me if I am tensed as that may shoot up the BP. Then they suggested me to take couple of deep breathes. Then they again checked my BP and this time it came 85/110. That's when the doc shared this information with me. The doctor will ask you to undergo more tests (ECG and KUB) to make sure your heart and kidneys are fine in case they find your BP higher.

My wife had two C-Section deliveries, one in Sept 2003 and the other one in Dec 2008. We told it to the doctor while fixing the appointment and didn't have to carry the discharge certificates for those as per doctor's advice. However, she also had stones removed from her right kidney in Dec 2007 and we had to carry the fit/discharge certificate for that.
Doctor also checked the cut mark of C-Section.

we have three children... all c-section, but the DMP didn't ask for any medical record for it. we however, mentioned them with the date of the operations on the form which is given to you by DMP to be filled on the day of medical. no idea about tonsillectomy though. please bear in mind that i am talking about the medical test that we gave for my canadian work permit, not PR. im simply not sure if there is a different criteria during medical examinations for PR. still a long way for me to go for PR medicals as you can see my signature

I was asked to get an ECG as my BP was high too (They do not wait for CIC to ask for this).

But after the ECG the doc said all is well.

When did you take your medical test? Did you already receive the VISA? Can anyone tell me how long CHC takes to return the passports? I am dealing with CHC New Delhi.

Sometimes my blood pressure actually goes up when I go into the doctor! Ha ha. What about weight? I am about 45 pounds overweight since having my daughter 2 years ago (having a hard time getting the additional weight off). I have no other health problems and am healthy otherwise. Has anyone had any problems with getting denied due to weight?

Did they asked to bring vaccination record, Pedestrian reports etc of your daughter who is 6 month old?
