Is it true that if you dont pay all the fees before sending your application (PR fee for me) could delay your processing time up to 2 months?!

I've been reading a couple of threads here and some people say it does affect your time, can anyone help me?

karlshmar, PMM, Leon?

Muchas gracias!

Miguel ;D

Yes, that's true.

If you don't pay everything up front, then they will need to contact you to ask you to pay the RPR fee, wait for you to pay etc.... which yes, could mean up to a 2 month delay. That's why it's always advisable to pay everything up front if you can afford to do so.

Good to know!

I had no idea, but it makes sense now. I'm going to start saving some money, hopefully by the end of january it will be paid off.

Thanks again!

Miguel

Hi

Can you tell me where to submit fee? Can i submit inside embassy in abu dhabi or have to submit it somewhere else before going there?

you can pay online, then print the receipt and send the receipt with your application to Missisauga

Go to the CIC website, click on "I want to... pay my fees". Follow through the prompts and it will tell you what to do. When I did this I found out that I couldn't pay online for processing of an American applicant through Buffalo. Buffalo office needs a certified cheque or money order or similar.

To sponsor my dad, I paid $75 + principal $475 + $150 accompanying family = $700.

I didn't realize you could pay the PR fee up front....it's not shown in the fee calculation table...

:(

Even in the PR Guide 3998E for parents and in the visa specific guide, it does not mention anything about the PR fee.
Can I just pay it anyways and include it with his PR application from back home?

Because I found this on the sponsor's guide:

We will send you a request to pay this fee when we are ready to issue the permanent resident visa.
The fee is $490 per person for the principal applicant and each accompanying family member.

Thanks

I also found this in the online fee payment page:

If you are applying at an office outside Canada

You can find information on fee payment methods at the website of the visa office (immigration applications) or the Canadian embassy, high commission or consulate (proof of citizenship applications) responsible for your area. Visa and consular offices cannot accept receipts for fees paid in Canada.
