Hi

I am applying for FSW 2014... If successful I will go alone first and then my wife and 1 dependent child would follow few months later. I have few queries:

1. Will they be counted as accompanying or non-accompanying.

2. Do I have to pay fees (CAD 550 + 150) for them as well at time of sending the initial application. Can I avoid this and send their fees if the 1st stage is successful.

3.I will be claiming points for my spouse's language proficiency as well.

Thanks !!!!! ::) ::)

1. Depends on what you want. You can chose them as non-accompanying (check the appropriate box in the generic form). But even if they are non-accompanying, you will need to provide all the supporting documents and forms from the spouse and dependents.

2. If chosing non-accompanying, then no need to pay their fees. But you have to make this choice at the initial stage, not afterwards.

3. You cannot claim points from spouse if she is not accompanying. SImilarly, you also cannot show funds in her name if she is not accompanying.

The best deal for you would be to include your spouse and children as "accompanying" and pay the application fees for everybody. once you get the PR, you can chose to go alone initially. You will only need to be in Canada for 2 years out of 5 to be able to renew the PR upon its expiry. If you decide not to include them now, you would have to sponsor them through family class after you go to Canada and it will take several months to years for the process to complete.

thanks for the reply Namaste:

My Spouse and child are definitely accompanying me :

My query was can i avoid paying their fees at the time of submitting initial application and if successful pay their fees at time of visa stamping.

But I guess if they r accompanying then their fees has to be paid at stage 1.

Thanks !!

1. Will they be counted as accompanying or non-accompanying. - Depends what option you fill in

2. Do I have to pay fees (CAD 550 + 150) for them as well at time of sending the initial application. Can I avoid this and send their fees if the 1st stage is successful. -fees have to be sent upfront as they are accompanying you
3.I will be claiming points for my spouse's language proficiency as well. - Send her IELTS results with main application.
