Hi,

My wife and I recently decided to apply for PR, we are based in Gurgaon India.

I am struggling to find out how much fee I will have to pay for the whole process if I apply directly. The application fee is $550 per person. So I have 2 questions:
1. Is there any other fee I have to pay during the application process till the PR is granted?
2. What are the other expenses that I have to take into account (e.g. IELTS, medical).

Any links that can help me find out the above would be great.

Thanks in advance.

This is the link for the fees:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/fees/fees.asp?wbdisable=true#permanent

If it is just for you and your wife and you have applied for PR the fees would be:

75 (sponsorship fee)
475 (principal applicant)
490 (Right of permanent residence fee - RPRF)

Total $1040

You should really try wherever possible to pay these fees up front although technically you can wait until they ask you to pay the RPRF but this will likely delay your application as CIC will have to request it in order to issue you with the PR.

You also have to factor in the fee for the police certficate/s and the medical which will all be dependant on where you are applying from (I presume India from your post) so I can't help you there. Same applies to IELTS.

1. For the application $550.00 x 2 $1100.00
2. If the Visa (COPR) is approved, RPRF $490.00 x 2 $980.00
3. Then there is the cost of the medical exams and police certificates.

Which immigration program are you applying under?

The fees that PMM and brucem outlined would be for a Family Class Sponsorship application.

No, the fees I quoted are for any application other than family sponsorship, i.e. FSW. The OP said that he and his wife were going to apply for PR, so it doesn't appear that he is being sponsored.

Hey PMM, that is correct. Many thanks for the clarifications, really appreciate it.

Are there any immigration consultants in India that anyone would like to recommend? Looking for someone who is transparent and professional.

Thanks in advance.
