First of all don't be negative about it, as your profile is completely normal.
There are many who had a year drop and still made it to Canada.
It depends completely on how you present your application and your Statement of Purpose.

Answer some questions, maybe we can help you better.

1) Your complete Profile. Right from 10th Std.
2) Course applied or willing to apply.?
3) How did you spend your Drop period ?

First of all, don't be tense anymore and feel positive. What you can do at this point is choose a program related to your past qualification and make a strong statement of purpose. The key is to convince the visa officer that intent of going to Canada is only for higher studies and how that program will help in your career. In your case, the key will be your SOP, and your choice of program. Many students choose a program which is easily available in India and cost much less than abroad which raises doubt into the mind of VO. I hope, this helps. Good luck.

I would suggest you apply for University rather than College if you have enough funds.
Try getting a help of a counselor available in your city.

Generally, people who have completed B.Tech or similar Bachelors with job experience is likely to be rejected by the Embassy If the chosen program is PG Diploma. Though there are cases where some people managed to get through. The only choice remains is to pursue a similar program at Masters level related to past qualifications and work experience.
