It seems that the date of which the CSQ or "nomination" is received plays a role on how long it takes to process the application. Why don't we add a column to the tracker to be used as a reference for us?

I remember seeing similar observation made by some other forum member that CSQ issued date plays a role in processing time. Well I wonder if we can verify it some how.

IMHO I dont think CSQ date makes any difference. Yeah however each VO timeline is different.

This is the letter I received from my MP. Do you guys know what does "positive selection" mean?

"I spoke to CIC regarding your permanent residence application which was received on January XX, 2014. A positive selection has been made on March XX, 2015 and your medical exams are valid till February 2016. The background checks have been initiated , but CIC is waiting for the results of the investigations. Please note that, the average processing time for these types of applications is 20 months."

I guess he means that everything's fine except that they're still waiting for results of BC from 3rd party.

I wish CSIS won't take too long...

I think CSQ issue date does not play role. For me it was issued in first week of April 2014 and people who had issued on 21 April for example already got ppr.
Also I see that I got rprf request as in the sequence of application received date at sydney.

Hi Amit,
Unfortunately, no news at all. I didn't get yet the "in process" update. It's been already 10 months for me now :( and soon for you too!

Hello all,

No AOR even after 4 months . Should I call them to find out what's status?

Hi, it seems this day it's possibly taking up to this period of time, but 4 is already stretching it. You can always call, you won't lose anything.

Seems they have waked up in Ottawa. processing time got updated! 20 months became 15 months. hope everybody get a good news soon

Hello members

I have a question, is there any preferred border crossing for flag-poling? I have a CSQ and I would like to get the work permit at the Border.

I am planning to do this this week from Montreal. I appreciate any one shares their experience in this regard

Thanks and regards
Anand
