I live and work in the US and I did my assesment here ... and it is expensive ... probably the most expensive out of all the countries to do a medical assessment.

One of my friends lives in Boston....he's been waiting for his US green card for almost 6 years... it really kills him...I convinced him to come up here but he still thinks US is better than Canada. :P

Yes ... the Greencard is taking very very long ... infact for Indians ... it is taking upwards of 8 years .... but is the US better than Canada interms of opportunites ... absolutely .... For me Canada is a country I fell in love with ... Quebec is a place I absolutely loved ... and I am applying to be accepted into a country which I have absolute love for .... but Let us not kid ourselves ... the US is still the land of opportunites

Any news from your medical exam? I got my AOR today :)

Good for you! I got my medical exam request 1 week later, so yours in coming soon. I think if everything goes well, we will be able to get the PR card by the end of this year!

Hello

Congratulation to all recently landed immigrants and wishes best and prosperity for a new amazing life in Canada.

I also express my best hopes and wishes to the rest of "2013-early 2014" applicants who are waiting for PPR and landing for completion of their process. Hopefully every thing is to be done very soon.

If it helps, I would like to let you know that I received my PR card yesterday (61 days after landing), so do not put much trust on the procesiing time given by CIC website (currently showing "25 days).

I suggest to create another forum specifically for PR card timing, since I did not find any, particularly for Quebec applicants (I found other forums, but for other classes such as CEC). If you like, you may visit it and add your cases, share your experience or express your concerns. please see the link below, the new forum I created:

http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/waiting-for-pr-card-after-landing-quebec-skilled-worker-and-other-csq-holders-t272425.0.html

All the best

That is amazing. Lets hope you hear back from them in the next one month.

Oh right. I forgot about the FBI request.

I just noticed that My re-assessment medical forms were from Manila(RMO) ,Philippines ,which makes no sense. Because I'm from China and My case is being processed in Ottawa. I called CIC and they don't know why either. Can you believe it? They also told me that they still haven't received my meds so far....There's only a week left for receiving it.....god....Does anyone have any idea what is going on here? Such a mess!

Oh man. Standing ovations for CIC at this point, please! ::)

I have seen cases where American family sponsorship applicants have got medical requests from New Delhi. Which seems odd because they also have nothing to do with New Delhi. But I guess it is CIC's way of distributing work amongst VO's. Dont worry about it, you have already done it .... so if CIC wants it ... they will get it in a few days ... if they dont want it and its a mistake ... then you have nothing to lose ( except the money you spent :p)
