I can understand .... its been 7 months since I did my medicals and no news what so ever. My attorney sent an email last month asking for a status update .... and they replied back a few days ago saying they havent even started reviewing my application and since the application is in its regular timeline of review, they wont respond to any new correspondence for status. They also said that all documents must have a validity of atleast 6 months

So here is my question, what about the police certificates? Do you guys think we should resent the police certs again ... the FBI one is taking 4 months to get ... i would hate for them to ask the certificate again and me having to wait 4 months.

there's nothing we can do about the redo things. They ask, you update, that's it. :(

I sent the police certificate with the application a year ago, im wondering if they will ask for a new one, and also my medicals is going to expire on May, im afraid that I have to redo everything

No "in process" here either.
I applied for new FBI and police certificates last month in case they ask for new ones. The old ones were dated Feb/Mar of last year.
Good luck to all

That is actually a good idea. I will start doing so as well. Those FBI things are taking a lifetime to come

Yeah, it's better to get ones. I've seen people who were asked to submit new police certificates because it took too long to process their applications.

I guess we can only wait!! :S

What even sucks more is that they updated the average processing times for Ottawa and now it's longer !!!! it's 20 months instead of 18. Although I know that most people get it within 12-15 months, this is an indicator that processing times are getting longer!

hi guys i dont know if its a good news but i received and email 2mn ago from cic asking me to send the FBi certificate and update my information and also the police certificate, i did sent them along with my application almost a year ago. do i need to order new ones? and can plz help me how to order a new ones i dont remember how i did it the first time. also do u have any idea how long it takes to get the police and fbi certificate? they said in the email that my file has been transferred to ottawa

Its is both good news and bad news. The good news is that they are looking at your file. The bad news is that the FBI police certificate is taking 4 months to get these days and there is no way to expedite it. I suggest you get to it as soon as you can.

Im going for fingerprint today. I remember that i got it last time on 2 months. And they ask me to update my personal information should i sent them an email? How about if nothing changed? Any idea what should i put in the email?

I would just send in the new form with the same information and a cover letter explaining that nothing has changed so there is no new information that could be added. Also, when I sent my fingerprints during may, it took less than a month, but now, it takes 4 months or longer for the FBI fingerprints to come through.

Also, my other question was, did you visit your home country after you sent in the police certificate for your home country? Because, if we never visited our home country after application, would it really be necessary to send the police certificate for that?

Congratulations Dounia on the progress. The new request for PCC and the associated delays are disappointing but at least they started processing your file.

Suryak, I have seen some ppl who respond to CIC's request for new PCC saying that they never left the US to visit their home country since their last submission (maybe substantiated with I-94 entry/exit record) and in some instances the CIC accepted the argument, but of course YMMV.

No I didn't go outside of the USA since I sent my application, I think I will send them an email asking if in this case they still need a new police certificate. And where Can I find the form to update the family information? Thank you guys

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/quebec-apply-application.asp

Find the background declaration if your changed your job or moved to a new address
Find the Family dependents form if you had a change in your family composition ( New kid, divorce, new marriage etc)

I just called them they said they need a new police certificate because it's valid only for 3months. And for the information that need to be updated they said there is no need to fill out the forms, you just write them an email explaining if anything changed
