What was in the attachment? May be its because your medicals expire in 2 weeks and it might take them a couple more months to finalize your application.

there's a "Reassessments for a new medical certificate" form in the attachment. I've checked from CIC,

Reassessment applies only to cases where a final decision is pending due to either:

the expiration of a medical certificate; or,
when the validity of the medical certificate is about to expire and the applicant is unable to land before it expires.
The process does not apply to applicants who are inadmissible on health grounds since inadmissible ‘M' profiles do not expire.

I'm supposed to be receiving ppr within 2 weeks, but they asked me reassessment, I guess I'm in background check and they need more time to deal with my application. :(

This is actually good ... because this way you will be given almost an year of time to land. That should make things smoother for you. I know its a pain to redo meds ... but look at the bright side.

This might mean that your background check is done and your file is only waiting on your new medicals. Because reassements are apparently only made when the final decision is based on the medical reassement for a second time. Do you reside in Canada? That might explain why if you dont.

Thank you for the words of comfort and support. This is life eh?

I'm in Montreal, Last meds did in Beijing. one of forms saying:

In order to have a re-assessment of your medical, we will require the following:
1. Has the health status of these applicants changed since the last immigration medical exam?
2. Has the clients been in close contact with someone with active pulmonary tuberculosis since the last
exam?
3. CHEST X-RAY (film/ CD and report) – (for applicants 11y/o and above)

NOTE TO THE PANEL PHYSICIAN: Please ensure that the first two questions are answered using the attached
REASSESSMENT FORM. The chest x-ray image and report together with the ‘reassessment form’ should be attached and submitted under their corresponding IMEs in eMedical per individual.

Please return to the Panel Physician who performed your immigration medical examination or to another eMedical enabled Panel Physician (http://www.cic.gc.ca/dmp-md/medical.aspx). The Panel Physician will arrange for the additional medical tests to be carried out and will forward the results directly to this office. The PP must ensure that the Reassessment form and the results are sent to this office via eMEDICAL. Once we have completed our medical re-assessment we will transmit our decision to the appropriate Immigration Office. If the additional medical information is not received within 30 calendar days, your file will be assessed based on the information available, which may result in a refusal of your application.

Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.

Yup man ... life throws a curve ball sometimes .... in your case .. its just an extra medical assessment. .... which you know you will pass .... so dont take too much stress ... wait for that PPR and do update my spreadsheet :)

The reassement might have also been triggered because you did it in Beijing and not Canada. The reassements page does say that if the applicant is not a resident of canada for the last 2 years ( I think continuously) it might trigger a reassesment.

This makes more sense! I've already made an appointment to see doctor , Lets see what's gonna happen in next 30 days.

You are correct but I will need more and more data for that. Data is the key my friend. I only have one entry for Nairobi while all the others are for sydney. Also, no matter what office you are doing it from , the fact remains that your visa expiry is based on your medicals. So as more and more people add to the spread sheet, i will may be have enough data to separate by VO. Like the FSW spreadsheet which has like a 1000 entries.

I just dont have the data for that now.
You have enough data to split them into two. Those not applying in Canada are receiving anyway misleading information because that guy in Nairobi is by no way bounded by the Sidney/Ottawa timeline. You don't need 1000 to split. Yes, for those outside of Canada, they won't have enough data for them, but for those inside Canada, at least they will have a better estimate, my friend.

I have 23 people in the tracker now of which only 1 is being processed outside of Canada. So if I split the data, i will not have data for PPR for Nairobi. I cant split it by Canada and non Canada because outside of Ottawa , each VO has their own timeline, for which i have no data of people who have gotten their PPR. Atleast this way, most of the people will have an estimate of the average time it is taking.

Does anyone know how long it takes to get your passport back from Ottawa once submitted for PR stamp? Thanks.

As far as I know, we should get it back in about 2 weeks. I am also in the same boat waiting for visa...
