No news for me for the PR app. You think maybe they are still waiting for the Police Certificates they requested from us?
Although like I posted before, I did email them and they emailed back saying that if you submitted them with your app, then no need to send new PCs.
But maybe for some reason they are still waiting for new PCs?
Not sure what's going on.

Although I did get my renewed Work Permit in the mail a few days ago. I was on a 3 year Post Graduate Work Permit, which was expiring back in June, so I applied for a new one and got another open Work Permit which is valid for a year.
The processing for the Work Permit took almost 3.5 months, but I'm relieved that I finally got it.

Btw your idea about having a Dominoes like tracker for the PR app is amazing, you should tell CIC about that idea rightaway

Right, eh? That way the volume of incoming calls would decrease significantly! Speaking of which: I think it would be best if I called them, however, I work from 9am-5.30pm and with half an hour of lunch break, there is no way that I will find the time to deal with this - unless I take a day off. I am just really scared that there is indeed something wrong and that they will refuse my application in a month from now. What a nightmare!

finally, got "passport request"...

here is my updated timeline, and good luck to everyone who is waiting.

- CSQ received: Nov 17 2014
- Federal filed: Dec 11 2014
- #File: March 31 2015
- Medical request: April 4 2015
- Medical done: April 13 2015
- in process status: May 11 2015
- Additional doc and RPRF requested: new police certificates, since the ones I sent were two years old, May 11 2015
- New doc reached CIO: July 7th
- Decision made: july 31st
- Passport request: August 10th

@ s2t2: I called CIC this morning and as expected they were not willing to access my file in order to tell me what's happening. In the end I took the morning off and went to the police station in order to get the stamp and signature for a new police certificate application (yes, the German Governement requires an identy validation for applications from abroad). I faxed it to Bonn and hope to get it quickly, considering the fact that I will still need to get it translated and send it to Ottawa by September 1st. I figured I just can't take a chance here. Oh what a pain!! ???

@ marlee, thanks for letting me know. I know the CIC Call Center people are soooo helpful, why can't they just take a look at the case and let us know, instead of leaving everyone guessing and going through the useless process of sending PCs again.

Not sure if I should send new PCs or not, since the Ottawa office emailed me back to not send new ones when I asked them.

I sent them a mail as well but I don't expect a response until next week and I don't have the time to wait. Let's see what their answer is. I bet it will be the exact same as the one you received (the officer will contact you).

If you have already submitted your police certificates, do not apply for or submit new documents. We will contact you once your application has been reviewed by a visa officer.

Idiots! Why would they copy-paste that out of the original email and not give me any case-specific information on my file?

Yup that's what I got as well.
Not sure why they can't respond with proper answers, are we talking to robots there? lol

So will you be sending new Police Certificates or not?


By the way, I requested for my GCMS case notes through the Privacy Act, so I can have some idea of what's going on and what might be delaying it. But it takes like 4 weeks to get them, so I'll have to wait for that.

Yes, I ordered a new police certificate from Germany. I'm just fed up and I have had my issues with CIC - I don't trust them ONE bit. Even if they say now that you don't need to submit anything ... it doesn't mean they wont change their mind about that.

I was thinking about ordering GMCS notes as well. Then again, I know that they will probably get back to us by September 1st (60 days). My visa expires on September 15th and I really don't feel like gathering all the documents, paying the fees (and my employer as well), driving to the border and so on, only to receive my CoPR a couple of days later. It is such a pain in the as$!

I won't be able to get my Police Certificate to them before September 1st. So I don't have any other choice except to take their word for it, and not send any new Police Certificates since I already sent them with my app.

Another thing I've noticed is the recent reduction in the number of updates from other forum members as well, so maybe its because of the vacation/summer season that things have slowed down over at CIC or they've sent more resources to the Express Entry pool of applications and other apps are getting ignored.
So maybe a lack of updates on my app is something normal.

No other choice except to wait, let's see what happens in a few weeks!

I'm currently gathering my documents for my CIC application and not sure if I have to fill out and submit these forms.

1. Additional Dependants/Declaration (IMM0008DEP)
2. Schedule 4A (IMM0008 Schedule 4A)
3. Separation Declaration for Minors Travelling to Canada (IMM5604)
4. Statutory Declaration of Common-law Union (IMM5409)
5. Use of Representative (IMM5476)

I'm Single and has no dependent moving to Canada. I'm also not using a representative for my application.

Very appreciate your advise.

Hi,
Check this pdf document which has two columns, one for QSW and one for PNP, from that column you can see if something is required for QSW or not.
For the forms which are optional, it would say "if applicable", so if that applies to your application, send it, otherwise don't.
For other forms which don't say "if applicable", you have to send them.
