My occupation does not fall in the 38 skilled worker list now I want to change my occupation as a Crane operator which are in 38 list . My uncle has a crane business So I will work there for 1.5year & after that I will apply in Federal skilled worker.

Generally, under the Skilled Worker category, I have to submit the following, in support of my application:

• evidence of education training/professional qualifications;
• evidence of work experience;

I have question regarding that which is I am university graduate & after 1.5year of work I can submit my experience certificate ( which is required under the skilled worker category that is 1 year)also but what is the meaning of Professional qualification in crane operator occupation either I have to get professional degree regarding Crane operator or the experience certificate is enough for that

This is what the NOC says about crane operator:

Employment requirements

* Completion of secondary school is usually required.

* Completion of a one- to three-year apprenticeship program or High school, college or industry courses in crane operating are usually required.

* Trade certification as a hoist operator is compulsory in Quebec and available, but voluntary, in Saskatchewan.

* Boom truck crane operator trade certification is compulsory in Manitoba and Alberta and available, but voluntary, in Saskatchewan, British Columbia, Nunavut and the Northwest Territories.

* Mobile crane operator (8-15 tons) trade certification is compulsory in Ontario and available, but voluntary, in New Brunswick.

* Tower crane operator trade certification is compulsory in Ontario, Manitoba and Alberta, and is available, but voluntary, in Newfoundland and Labrador, Saskatchewan and British Columbia.

* Trade certification as a hoist operator (hydraulic crane) is available, but voluntary, in Saskatchewan and British Columbia.

* Mobile crane operator trade certification is compulsory in Quebec, Ontario, Manitoba and Alberta and available, but voluntary, in all other provinces, Nunavut and the Northwest Territories.

* Mobile crane operators may require a provincial licence to drive mobile cranes on public roads.

* Internal company certification as a crane operator may be required by some employers.

* Interprovincial trade certification (Red Seal) is also available to mobile crane operators.

Once you get into Canada as a PR, you don't actually have to work as a crane operator unless you want to. You can do whatever you want so if you find that you are in a province where you would need to get certified and it's a big deal, you can do something else instead.
