Canada invited only 250 skilled trades in only one draw this year. Anyone knows the reason behind? Other years around 1000 skilled trades were invited.

Can anyone tell me please who falls in skilled trade category? Is job offer mandatory for this?

IF you have a job offer, you need a LMIA to claim points.
Actually, I am on a work permit based on this job offer with LMIA. Currently I am working in Canada and want to obtain a certificate of qualification to claim additional 50 points for the FST stream.
Thank you!

I have some updates here. It turned out that to get Chef certification I need to get a Red Seal Cook first. So I am in the process of obtaining a Cook certificate.
BTW, I have EE account with primary NOC 6321 (Chefs). I tried to add a Cook certificate which NOC is 6322 and the system added 50 points. Is this correct while NOC's are different? Any thoughts.
Thanks!

Please can anybody share the link for this pathway? I wish to see who can apply. I am an artist and want to know where my painting certificate can take me to.

A painting certificate will not give you extra points. Skilled trades are apprenticeship occupations that require licensing like electrician and plumber.

Thanks for your response. I also have experience as an industrial painter, my wife also is a baker, will this pathway be good for us?
