Federal Skilled Trade Class (FSTC) Application

You can' t sit for the exam from outside canada. We applied for FST, with the letter that we got from Alberta industry of training. We send the application a mont ago and no answer yet, so we will see.

*** In Canada, only the provinces and territories can issue Certificates of Qualification in the skilled trades. To get this certificate, the provincial or territorial trades authority must assess your training, trade experience and skills to decide if you are eligible to write an exam to be certified.

You will likely have to go to the province or territory to be assessed. You may also need an employer in Canada to give you experience and training.

They assessed our training, and experience, we are eligible to write the exam. But we stil need a visa to get there, and with a visitor visa you don't get a SIN #, and the SIN it is one of the requierments in order to sit for the exam, and an employer onother requierment,( they send us a form that must be sign by the employer). That's why we applyed for the FST with the approval letter from Institute of training Alberta.

You are totally right Ralukino, but it's really very confusion......
the official website asks for exam as they said and logicaly you are right and the exam for who outside Canada needs all the requirements you mentioned, I think it's very difficult to whom is not in Canada.

I obtained my certificate of qualification tru work assessment from Alberta which i submited wit my applicatn CIO but no response yet no deduction on my account for visa fee.
