Dear All,

I applied in 2011 for my FSW 1122 category. But i got my application back after like 4 months saying that my application which reached on 21st of july was late to make it to the cap of 500 in this category.

After i checked on other routes and found out that despite my little to no knowledge of French I could make up the necessary points from the Quebec Immigration category as well.

Also, at the same time, i am preparing to do my PHD and thinking of doing it possibly from Canada (if i get admitted).

Can any of you help me suggest whats the best option for me our of below?

1) Work for a FSW Application this year again in 1122 category.

Pros: No need for French, my profile matches exactly what is in demand there.
Cons : I have to wait till like 7 months before i submit my application (like till july) and then the process takes 1 years. So its kind of too long.

2) Quebec
Cons: I meet the eligibility but will need to work a bit on French. Me and my wife do not know anything apart from Bounjor 8).
But I love the language generally. And do not mind working for it for a month or so if it helps me get the PR.

Pros: If all goes well I start the process now and will save like 6 months or so.

3) Student :
I get to go there. Study and then work my way to PR

Pros : Easier i hope
Cons : I heard they do not give student Visa if already you are applying for PR.

Not sure if I can try both like apply to Quebec now and apply to FSW in July? Does this decrease or takes away my chances of FSW?

Any ideas or suggestions will be appreciated. Any one?

Thanks

Ofcourse u can get a student visa
Infact there is one member who has already landed in canada on a student visa when her initial fsw application got returned
Nd student visa is the quickest and easiest way to land in canada

Waiting for FSW sounds like a good idea but the uncertainty is whether 1122 will still be among the professions in demand.QSW is not fast enough.Without French test result, job offer and profession being in demand, the chances of getting CSQ within one year is very slim. Getting admission to do a doctorate degree in Canada seems lke the only immediate course of action seeing as it will also help you in future to get PR. The only catch here is that you have to pay more as an international student. If you have the means pursue PHD and if your profession is still in demand come July, then you reapply. Goodluck.
