PPR 27/6/2011 afternoon (email)
Visa 28/6/2011
landing 29/6/2011

Congratulations~!
Did you apply in the US or Canada?

Thank you every one for your nice words, hope all the best for you all.

Wcikkk: I had a study permit in Canada, and i applied in Buffalo office (US)

fallsage & help101: yes we walked-in to Buffalo, but i stayed in Niagra and a representative went to take the visas.

I have a question.
Suppose I get a PPR and I want someone to walk-in and collect my PR visa , what does it take ?
I don't think a simple procuration will do , right ? Does the one have to be my representative since the beginning of the application ? or any relative can do it ???

Have a nice day.

nkusi.

write a letter authorizing so and so to collect shiny visa... mention the ID# and name of the person in your letter and voila. You can send anyone (even your dog, if s/he has ID)

hope it answers your query.

yep. i read it on Buffalo website. plz check this thread with info http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/asking-a-friend-to-get-ppr-for-me-t67365.0.html;msg688243#msg688243

when we are required passport to Buffalo, we:
(1) provide valid passport
(2) give height, eyes color,
(3) show proof that we are legal in US (i-94 should do)
(4) prepare a letter for authorizing the friend who'll hand in and then pick up your PP
(5) submit alongside 2 pics. With those latest, they will attach one pic to CO-PR and return the remaining.
-The frame size must be at least 35 mm x 45 mm (1 3/8″ x 1 3/4″);
-The size of the head, from chin to crown, must be between 31 mm (1 1/4″) and 36 mm (1 7/16″).

There are few people on this forum and around me who has received PPR at the end of June. (Most of them sent application last August)

Surprising, they all got it either June 27 or 28.

If Buffalo issued PPR subject to quarterly/bi-annually quota, those who hasn't got PPR this time might have to wait until next season.

I hope my assumption is wrong, but it's a bit depressing.

YEAH ! depressing indeed.
my CAIPS Notes says Bring forward date (the date by which the officer will next look into my file) is Aug 27, 2011 and a friend of mine has hers for Jul 15, 2011. We are both waiting PPR and applied with one week difference. i personally hope & pray to get my landing on my 15th anniversary which happens to be about a week prior to Aug 27.... That's my dream!!!

speaking of CAIPS what are your Bring Forward date (BF'd) folks? maybe we can compare them to kind of keep hopes and dreams alive... .

Am kind of losing it all

You mean the quarter thing ?? I think this is simply wrong ... try get a look at trackitt, I see Ton40 got the PPR on March 3 , which is a month before the end of a quarter.

Rather, I think the problem is the "quota". This morning I was checking what went wrong with the immigration systems, because I realized that almost all the CIC offices are getting slower (at a certain moment Nairobi held some people's passports for more than 6 months (between October 2010 to May 2011) before issuing their visas , Singapore came from 6 months to currently 11 months , Beijing is to 9 months from previous 6 months ... Buffalo is 14 months from previous 6 months) .... So, obviously, something is wrong somewhere in the overall system. My guess is "Canada is getting saturated, and they are figuring out how to slow down the immigration " ( I am just guessing). Otherwise , I don't see why the backlog in Buffalo has to wait , while Detroit can share the burden a little bit . Why not transfer ? and why the slow-down in all CIC offices ??

In Singapore, the immigration agents have understood the game:

http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/singapore-timeline-t64843.0.html (« Reply #12 on: March 15, 2011, 03:49:12 am » from Letina)

and it looks like the CIC Singapore has had the decency to explain it to one of their applicants :
http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/singapore-timeline-t64843.15.html (check « Reply #28 on: March 30, 2011, 04:29:40 am »)

Apart from this , I do not see another explanation for this sudden (simultaneous , as well as frightening) jump in the processing times everywhere.
i guess we have to make it part of our "Waiting game". If this be the case, I wish they (the CIC system) had at least the decency of saying it openly, and save us from this painful confusion. At least, if one knows that he is going to wait a loooooooooooong time, then he/she can plan his life accordingly.

Bonne fin de journee !

wow this is bigger than I thought. Hope the timeline won't increase that would be a disaster for us all

Nkusi, thks again for posting these awakening news ! I decided to follow a different path like the girl from your previous link and try approaching an MP now and if it leads me to a dead end, have a word w/ my former student.

I think you were right only to those who fight shall the kingdom be... I need to try at least to exit this process and follow my dreams

@ae03yy ,

Go get it , bro/sis !!
I guess no rational applicant will blame you for having the chance of getting the PR.
