I believe I have a similar timeline with you.

I still haven't got AOR yet. My lawyer told me that medical request usually comes few months after AOR (or few weeks)

He told me I'd better wait for a formal paperwork since some of the results have been often lost and CIC now ask that all applicants wait until they are advised to do the medical.

I heard from friends that some doctors refused to run medical check-up without the formal request, but some did not.

If you really want to do it in advance, you can look for a doctor who's willing to do it without formal paper.

But I decided to wait. I still think following intruction strictly is the best/fastest way.

Wclkkk, thanks for the opinion, I was also thinking that the best is to wait till I get them. But it is so weird, because its been 4 months since we applied and no correspondence from them yet!

Yes, ton40. There has been ridiculously long delay for August applicants, and there has been and will be agonizing waiting ahead of us.

But in positive side, we are not the only one experiencing this delay.

I hope I can get something in January. (December with any luck)

I still believe everything will be done by next May at latest.

i agree with wcikkk, stand firm girl and be brave. At least you got an email for Buffalo with your file no. which means everything is in the package you sent. Now let hope they will start processing soon and then send letters accordingly.

how many months (worst case) can we expect from date of handing in federal app to getting PR card in hand?

according to their statistics last updated in October 12 months, but if you are as lucky as florida and digital it could be less than 6 months

I think I'm in the same boat as you. I received the CSQ on August 24, 2010 and submitted the documents to Buffalo on August 26. However, I have not received the medical documents yet! How long will it take normally? My money order has been cashed a in November! Any comments? Should I do anything at the moment?

I am working at Montreal for almost two years now and I applied for CSQ after I arrived here.

It seems there has been a major backlog at Buffalo.

I sent out federal application August 11, but still haven't got anything yet.

My application was received in Buffalo on 10/18/10. Called my bank, cashier check was cashed on 12/15/10. Waiting for AOR and Medical request.
