MasterGeek,

Have you checked your status online? Does it at least have Medicals Received in there?

hello people,

I have PR now via Quebec with intention to start looking for work in Quebec mid next year since I have a contract job now in Ontario.

Based on your insights, should I land in Toronto (drive across Bufalo --> Toronto) or should I land in Montreal (Albany --> Montreal)?

Will landing in Toronto make it seem as though I dont want to settle in Quebec? Please offer your best advice!

Hi,

I have heard it is highly recommended to land in Quebec, otherwise you may encounter some difficulties. The border officer might claim about your situation. Do not take the risk.

Yes, I have Medicals Received in my eCas, why ?

MasterGeek,

I was just asking to make sure your case didn't hit any stop on the way. If I were u, I would definitely call them as soon as the 120 days mark hits. Let me know if u do, I'm curious about their answer.

update from my side...though looks alarming...i am thinking not to worry much for another 2months... got my GCMS notes today...report was taken on 23rd July. As of no checks is initiated...i dont see anything in progress...all status are "NOT Started"

God knows when its going to be started :)

For now the wait continues

Hi Prasamp,

Not even Criminality in progress?

nope.. nothing i received AOR in feb..medicals passed updated on 14th feb...there after no updates on my file...
i was to go out of canada in march so i ordered my notes then...the only difference i see between the two notes is one page extra in the new notes...that page has details about my previous gcms notes enquiry...thats it... after 8months to know that nothing has been done bothers me a little...but seeing ppl who are waiting for more than a year..i am consoling myself.. but with just 5months left for my medical to expire i am getting little nervous on the process...

i also had a address change recently..i was ttold it will take 15business days to update address on my file...now after 25business days my file is not updated either..my prev gcms notes clearly stated file is in Ottawa and not in buffalo..so i am not in the case who are in transit from buffalo to ottawa...

hoping for some change of fortune :)

wish you best of luck....

I think if your application is within processing time, no need to worry. CIC can manage the activities even if they start them late.

I am also QSW applicant. Got AOR in Feb 2012 and in process since May.

Guys,

The processing time in CIC website has changed today (Detroit, NY, LA & Seatle) but there is no Ottawa in the list!

Yeah.. I hope all of us get PPR soon so this journey has a sweet ending! :)

a friend of mine (Applied in march 2011) got request from Detroit for passport request last week.
Does any1 know how long (on average) does it take for this consulate to issue the PPR visa on the passport? Also, is each consulate different i.e wrt the time it takes to issue the PPR visa???

My friend is sending his sending his mail via Canada post's Xpress-Post and also putting in a return envelope, so in his case, mailing shouldn't take more than 2 days. I would recommend every1 to do sale meme chose, because it's always secure to mail passports via registered mail.

Hi all,

Anyone here could send me the link of points for language proficiency for both french and english, for PA and spouse, Thanks.

Hi Friends,

I see that a few people are getting their PPRs from Ottawa. Its a good sign that things are moving. If the timeline of these members are to be considered, it seems we will get PPR after 15-17 months of submitting to the federal.

Hoping to get PPR before christmas and new year holidays. Hang in there everybody, good news is on its way!!! :)

Hello Student 3000,
I applied for federal part of PR (for my spouse and myself) on July 2011 while in the US ( I have a canadian Masters degree, so I applied under the quebec post-graduate experience for CSQ, as a new worker) . I came to Canada to start my PhD in November 2011, so basically I am in Canada right now. Once we get PPR, I am planning to go back to US, send my passports from there to the designated Visa office for stamping, wait till it comes back (3-4 weeks holiday for me!), and then land in Canada as a PR.

P.S: My husband lives in the US right now.
Feel free to comment.
