Sharuu..
adding to what you had mentioned...there are cases whose status never changed to In Process...from AOR to PPR it was application received and went to decision made....they too belong CEC,PNP,QSW cateogries.. this process is one mystery to crack :(

Yeah.. I hope all of us get PPR soon so this journey has a sweet ending! :)

Can anybody tell me about how long after sending medicals does your status change to Medicals Received?

Thanks,
Brebu

In my personal experience it was 3 weeks, not months just 3 weeks.
Medicals done may 21
Sent may 31
Ecas shows received june 22

Also, i was corroborating with a couple of people on this forum, who had submitted their medicals +-1 month from my date, their experience was exactly the same....

As per timelines, i think Ecas status should change to 'in process' about 8 weeks to 11 weeks from the date of ECAS saying meds received....Once in process, another 8-10 weeks, you should be in ppr territory..but if your status doesnt change to in process, then all bets are off....

Hello J.C

YOU ARE 100% WRONG!!!...REVERSE IS THE CASE...(That is Med. Recv. line appearance)
is the last stage...except you still have unfinished security/criminality clearance.

"In Process" comes before medical. when you have medical recv. line, you are face with decision
And Besides, ECAS is not too reliable...A friend has only "application recieved line", before he
landed in Canada.

XSE there is no set rule this should come firs... infact mine is application received but medical received appeared within 1month of AOR. Medical received was in Feb and my GCMS notes in April revealed no background/criminality started too..

MEdical received appears on your profile implies your medical is cleared thats it... it come before in process after in process depends on AOR timelines and how quick you do medicals..

though thats the normal processing flow...i wouldn agree this for more than 10-20% of cases.. in process never appeared for lot of ppl who landed as PR. Application received changed to Decision made within a week or two after landing... there is no clear process flow available...thats the bottleneck in the entire process...each case is different...

Here are my dates
April 2012: Application filed
May: AOR and MR directly from Ottawa
June 1st: Medicals sent
July 1st: eCas: Medicals received under Aplication received

How long before PPR ? Is it reasonable to expect it by end of September ?

prasamp my friend does your ecas say "in process"?

The e-mail containing the AOR and Medicals Request I received from CPP-Ottawa said the standard processing time is 10 months. It also stressed about getting Medicals to them before 60 days from the date of the e-mail and that I should contact them in case I do not hear from them within 120 days.
I would therefore estimate the time between Medicals Received - PPR to be between 2-6 months. 2 would be for the very lucky (I've heard of a few on this forum) while some ppl might even have to wait 6 months or more if they're security doesn't check out fast enough.
This is my best guesstimate, hope we all get it soon!!!

You're right my email said the same thing. So in about a month I will have passed the 120 days of not hearing from them and so would be able to legitimately contact them to request information about my case. ::)

hello people,

I have PR now via Quebec with intention to start looking for work in Quebec mid next year since I have a contract job now in Ontario.

Based on your insights, should I land in Toronto (drive across Bufalo --> Toronto) or should I land in Montreal (Albany --> Montreal)?

Will landing in Toronto make it seem as though I dont want to settle in Quebec? Please offer your best advice!
