I am on the same boat as you and Biochemgal

and I am in the same situation like all of you. its been a year since i applied, and ecas just shows application and medicals received. I actually submitted all of the documents and fees (that they require at a later stage like the police certificate) at the time of submission, so I am a bit frustrated about the longevity of the processing time :(

Apparently, the CIAPS forms can be emailed as well, now. Did any try emailing them and got a response yet?

Got my GCMS back.

I had a quick look, and this is what I see:

ASSESSMENT

ELIGIBILITY: NOT STARTED
SECURITY: NOT STARTED
CRIMINALITY: IN PROGRESS
MEDICALS: PASSED

I dont see any "bring forward date" either. I don't know what to make of my GCMS! I really hope things will move faster....

Under ASSIGNMENT what is the due date and what is the last comment made under NOTES? Under Paper File History you should be able to find when your file reached Ottawa, if that is where it is?

Hey sharu
I just wanted to ask you if you can understand what happened here in my GCMS

under PAPER File History
1.
Updated Date: 06/06/2012
Office: Buffalo
File status: Open
Location: B92

2.
Update Date: 15/12/2011
Office: Buffalo
File status: Open
Location: B screeening

This means the file is still in buffalo nothing about ottawa transfer
My GCMS was printed on July 3rd 2012
Do you have any idea what is location B92 in buffalo office?

Also, I couldnt find assignment part in my GCMS

Also, do you know what the due date under criminality means??

Thanks

B Screening might mean Background Screening and B92 might mean buffalo and 92 might be a location in buffalo office. On the first page, what is the location of your file. Assignment should be in the first or second page, and there should be due date below it.

The due date is more like a bring forward date, when they expect to revisit your case for that section.

What is your timeline?

Well on the first page says primary office: buffalo
But the GCMS was printed July 3rd 2012, buffalo is already closed!!!!

Also now i was able to find assignment and it is blank nothing there :(

Whats your timeline?

You can see my timeline under my profile on the left. Is your ECAS still at App Received and your ELIGIBILITY IN PROCESS or NOT STARTED?
What it seems like your file is still at buffalo, it will eventually get transferred and it has been 1 month since it has been printed there might already have been some movement in the file.

I think a VO has yet to look at your file. It first needs to be transferred then a VO will look into it to determine eligibility and then it will be forwarded to another VO who will look at one final time to issue PPR - if everything is okay!

What is your ECAS Status? Right at the top the first page, what is the updated date and do you know what happened on that date? I think the last thing that has happened is meds have ben received - if the medical status is passed. In short your file might have not been looked after Nov 2011!

@Sharuu

You are fast becoming a guru in immigration Canada...Thanks for all your help to others!!!

My Question is taken from one of your recent text

Does "MEDICAL HAVE BEEN RECEIVED" line in Ecas, means you PASSED your "MEDICALS"?

No guru..just trying to help others :) I think it means you have passed your medical exam but to confirm just order GCMS and you will be 100% sure about that.

According to my GCMS,

my file has been transferred back and forth between ottawa and buffalo, and now its in Ottawa I think.

There is no due date under assignment and there is no special notes under NOTES.

So to summarize, my application status is OPEN, IN PROGRESS.

MEDICALS PASSED.

I dont understand what it means by "ELIGIBILITY: NOT STARTED. Does anyone know?

My guess is that because Quebec workers are automatically considered eligible upon obtaining a CSQ, therefore the "Eligibility" process (reviewing education/experience and language abilities) usually performed on Federal worker applicants is never started for Quebec workers.

My latest eCas status is application and medicals received and I just ordered GCMS notes to see if Background/Crime check has been done yet, I think it's the most time consuming step for our applications

I dont agree... everyone's eligibility needs to be evaluated. It just means the VO has not gone round to checking your file for eligibility. Usually when you pass it, ECAS goes to In Process and then a new Bring Forward date is given for a FINAL REVIEW and issuance of PPR. When was your file received at Ottawa? Its more or less that your file has not gotten round to be evaluated yet. Usually when all checks are cleared then eligiblity is done.
