Hi jasmin...if you could justify the reason for you staying outside Quebec you wont have any problems... but i am sure you can expect them to send you a letter on this same...2 of my friends got it start of this year...they went for a internship outside and were paid which is enough they can trace it on your SIN and CRA...so if you have justification and intention to reside in quebec you should be fine.. else if you want it to be smooth...please update immigraiton quebec on this before going out of the province..."Send a letter with supporting documents" which is issues as part of your job or studies etc... if you travel outside canada you dont need to give any updates to them..but if you stay outside quebec and then get income on your SIN frmo another province your T4 will clearly show them your work for other province...so please update them before they find it...they will surely accept if its for a business purpose. good luck!!

I appreciate your answer. It makes a lot of sense. I think I know what I am gonna do :)

Have you heard anything from your VO yet?...WHY????

I did my medicals in November, now waiting for PPR!

My timeline is pretty similar to Biochemgal's and I haven't heard anything from the VO either after my medical. My ecas status is still at application received :'(

Federal application for QUEBEC workers from Buffalo, USA

Hey!

This is my time line regarding my canada PR application:
13/09/2011: I got QSC.
12/12/2011: My file was received by Buffalo office.
26/04/2012: Medical request.
09/05/2012: Medical test is done.
26/06/2012: FBI background check request.
09/07/2012: FBI background check received by Ottawa pilot(according to USPS)

My question is the following: how long will it take approximately to receive the request of the passport request and the payment of the the right of permanent resident, 490 dollars.

Thank you guys for your collaboration in advance! :) and happy Ramadan for those who know what is Ramadan.

I've been trying to work this out too based on what I can see of other peoples experience. It seems like it can be anything from 2 months to 18 months from Medicals to request for passport :( It's annoying as it took 18 months from when I applied for CSQ until I had the interview, so it's looking like the whole process is going to be 3 years for me.

Hello, I sent my federal application in April and my file was transfered directly to Ottawa, my eCas shows Medicals Received since 1st July.

I noticed last week that my eCas shows my newer address in Quebec in two columns: Home address and mailing address.

Is it just because I requested an address change at the end of June (I moved to a different appartment) or is it due to my file progressing and can expect Passport request soon ?

thanks :)

hi mastergeek,

my home address showed up last week in my Ecase, what ever that means, i haven't moved. my mailing address showed up end of june.

is just means one thing: things are moving on the other end.

everything is still open (PPR)....every case is different. I "know" somebody in another forum who applied (Federal) Dec 2011, Meds requested/AOR Feb2012, Meds done March2012, and PPR May2012, PPort returned mid June 2012 ! Lightning speed!

....

Hey! thank you for your reply. I do think that it s too annoying because there is no certainty regarding time and each file is treated differently. I think 18 months are too much between the FBI check and the passport request, it will surely be less. I think it will be between 1 month to 2 months. I was just wondering if someone is willing to share his experience with us.
Good luck in your application and thanks for your reply once again!

I am hoping that we will hear something from Ottawa in August. Hoping that the file transfer is complete now.

I BELEIVE THERE WILL BE OUR PPR BY AUGUST

sent passport about 2 weeks ago. Checked ecas yesterday and saw decision made! ;D :D ;) Thanks everyone for your support on this forum.

Four questions I have though:

1. I am currently working in another province on a one year contract. I have to finish this contract before moving to Quebec next year. Will this be a problem given I should have my passport back by next week hopefully.

2. What is the best way to "land" if I am currently within Canada. Should I travel down to mtl by road, where should I report to for the Quebec authorities?

3. In the event that I lived in Quebec for a period spanning 6 months and in the unlikely event that I do not find a job there, can I move to another province.

4. If I start applying for many jobs per month between now and next year in Quebec, but unable to find, can I reside in my current province without ever having lived in Quebec given that I could not find a job there (will retain evidence of job searches, interview invites, etc)?

Thanks.

Any idea how long it is taking to get PPR once file is received at Ottawa?
