Hi mcgill_engr,
I hope to hear from them soon. I do not they paused Quebec applicants. The release was for FSW.
The processing time is 15 now but It seems it is going to be longer than that after Buffalo closing!

Hi Speednab

Well according to the official release as far as the CSQ goes, only certain exceptions can only apply until March 2013 ( ref: http://www.immigration-quebec.gouv.qc.ca/en/informations/applications-receipt.html)

I did not mean that the CSQ holders who had already applied for the federal leg of the application, would be kept on hold. The processing of older files and applications will speed up consequently. As far as the time limit for processing is concerned, they have changed it to 15 months from 14 months. Let us be hopeful of getting a PPR in July :D

Does this mean we should not expect any PPR from Ottawa before September? We can not even request GCMS Notes?

Hi Sharuu

Not exactly. What I mentioned was that they had replied to my application of GCMS notes ( in which I asked about the physical files as well as electronic versions of the application). They told me that though they will be able to provide me the information about the electronic files in due course, but as far as physical files are concerned, any GCMS notes citing information about them will be delayed ( they mentioned a date of after 31st Aug 2012 for any GCMS notes about physical files) due to movement of files between buffalo and ottawa.

Hope this is clear!

Did you get a reply from Ottawa or the GCMS Notes people that they will not be able to give GCMS Notes? When did you apply for GCMS Notes?

I got the following reply:

"Your access to information file # is : ########
Concerning : the FOSS notes, theBuffalo CAIPS/GCMS notes and the visa file concerning << NAME >>,
Due to recent Events, The Buffalo Visa Office has closed. During the transition where all physical files are being transferred to CPPO- Ottawa, We will not be able to provide the physical files. You may re-submit your request for the physical file towards the end of August 2012.
We will still be able to provide to you the electronic copy of the visa file and the rest of the files that are held in Canada.
Thank you for your understanding in this matter,

I had applied on June 25th 2012.

Thanks for clarifying that. So, does that mean physical files will not be reached for all of us until end of August? If the physical files arent there, they cant be processed anyways. So, I think its a safe thing to say our files can not be processed before september. My file was in transit when I last enquired which was about a week ago. Usually, it takes 2 months to finish transferring and if they will not start processing untill all files have been transferred then I am afraid we are looking at sometime beyond September! :(

I would suggest you to not jump to any conclusions as the immigration process is unpredictable to say the least!

Hey all fellow Quebec applicants :-)

I might also be applying to Buffalo for the Federal Processing and the website says that the current processing time for Federal Applications is 15 months?

No, I had to apply via Buffalo. Inland seems only to be for Sponsorship. So I'll need to wait quite a bit longer.

What is the next step after your ECAS show "Medical Recieved"?
Anybody know?
