In the email from CPP ottawa on the request of my daughter's QSW, it was mentioned that my file is progressing rapidly and this document was necessary for finalizing it.

After that no news and no change in ECAS too...Is this normal?

Many applied in Mar-May 2011 and are still waiting. so It is normal.

Has anybody been able to speak to an agent on the 1-888 CIC number? I have tried to call numerous times since last week and they keep saying that "all lines are busy, call back later"

Did they close the call center?

Although, I applied for GCMS notes ( a bit late though, applied after I heard buffalo consulate is shutting down). Got a reply from them last week that they will only be able to work on the GCMS notes once all the files have been transferred to Ottawa and the applicants should only mail them to ask the status after 31st Aug, 2012.

I also heard that Quebec has stopped accepting new CSQ applications ( apart from certain exceptions ) until March 31st, 2013. So this should speed up the processing of the delayed applications.

I hope to hear from them soon. I do not they paused Quebec applicants. The release was for FSW.
The processing time is 15 now but It seems it is going to be longer than that after Buffalo closing!

Does this mean we should not expect any PPR from Ottawa before September? We can not even request GCMS Notes?

Did you get a reply from Ottawa or the GCMS Notes people that they will not be able to give GCMS Notes? When did you apply for GCMS Notes?

It is difficult to say exactly when Ottawa will send out PPR and RPRF after medicals, since PR applications from the buffalo visa office has been transferred to Ottawa, and due to this change, there will be a shift in the timelines. So nobody can say for sure. I wish you the very best

i fall under this category..i completed my medicals way back in february'12 and got that updated in ecas in 2weeks time..there after nothing. the best thing i could say is wait...may be until sep-october. With the shifting of docs from buffalo to ottawa happening..i am sure all the backlogs that is 2011 applicants will be given priority (if their review stands completed) and will get their PPR and then they will be doing for 2012...so pretty much another 3-4months timeline...

in all case only 2-3 ppl from 2012 got their PPR that too before Buffalo closing, now with Buffalo closed CPP-O has extra burden to take care so we are back to the stage where Buffalo was a year before. It was in month of April-May they got PPR. we are lucky to have our AOR within 1-2months of applying..2011 applicants they didnt even have any response for 4-5months

I ordered for my GCMS in March as i was going out of canada and no background/security initiated..so lets wait for 2011 applicants to get through...if we are lucky we will make it in 2012 else 2013.. and btw this is my perception on the way things went...timeline for each of us depends on our nationality,countries visited etc... good luck
