Thank you Subinense and egrace26 for your prompt answers.

Does anyone think that the new application form with the barcode system maybe of any advantage to us, for example, decrease the processing time or make it more efficient?

Dear Friends,

I am a little bit confused about the form "Additional Dependants/declaration form. (IMM 0008DEP)

(In the buffalo visa office checklist, they mention that" ADDITIONAL DEPENDANTS/DECLARATION (IMM 0008DEP) - This form is completed by you, the principal applicant, if you have more than five (5) family members.)
(Family means my spouse, myself and children if any, right?) Its just the two of us, so I do not have to fill this form right?

Secondly, in the Buffalo visa checklist (Appendix A), there is no Q checkbox next to
7. EDUCATION/TRAINING/QUALIFICATIONS and 8. WORK EXPERIENCE. So that means these documents are not required, right?

Questions might sound a bit silly, but I am super-paranoid about not making any mistakes!

Thanks a lot guys.

If you are immigrating alone, ignore the dependants part.

Education/Training/Qualifiations and Work experience are parameters for Selection, which has already been done by Québec. So no, you don't need to send them any of that.

Re: (No subject)

Yeah, d new form wit barcode will sure ensure efficiency of processing bcos this new form is to b filled online b4 printing. Whenever a filled is left unfilled, d form ll not print unles all rlevant field has been filled hence this ll prevent applicants 4rm submittin an incompletely filled form either intensionally or otherwise.incompletely filled forms are immigratn officers nightmare cos they usualy wont b able to come 2a conclusn on such files

Hi guys,

I'm back after few days off the thread. I needed some time to picture things differently and so I'm back now... yeah i was really mad at CIC and Buffalo sites for telling us to go on eCAS when Buffalo doesn't update it and don't even have same system. All the time we waist do they care. No and they don't care also about misleading us so for these reasons I was mad. Not knowing what to do and being stuck waiting as many of you kind of hurt the goals and dreams we have and i guess i needed to say that.

Now, let's move on and look ahead ! I could not have done it without all of you so thanks. Buffalo is Buffalo and we are ONLY subjects. But as ittech said keep smilin :)

Thanks again, Sub!

Welcome back, aeo3yy, :) I see you went through the Buffalo Blues. What to do, like you said, we are just subjects. But, we keep dreaming, hoping, and one day, it will all pay off. Keep the faith :)

hey Biochem,

Good to know you rec'd all PCC. Any docx that has no box is not an option if under Quebec, so Checklist for 7 & 8 aren't options for ya!

Regarding "Additional Dependants/Declaration [IMM 0008DEP]" needs to be completed if and only if applicable. I mean if you have dependant(s) see what they say:
If you have more than five (5) family members, you must complete the Additional Dependants/Declaration (IMM 0008DEP) form for each additional family member in order to include everyone in your application. Retrieved from: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/EQ74.asp about Dependant(s)

As a general rule of thumb, write N/A or SO when Not Appliicable (Sans objet). Do not forget friend to make a copy of all forms when signed and dated and documentation too. Just to be safe!

supposedly to save them time entering the info in the system at least and removing doing mistakes again.
Having worked for US embassy/consulates I recall that when they introduced the form DS-160 (which is also barring a bar code at he bottom) the idea was to have applicants fill in everytthing and subsequently submit it at the interview. During the apptm VO had to scan the bar code and by doing so on their computer, it would allow to retrieve all data entered. DS-131 and other previous ones had to be typed back by someone in the consulate system.

So, it is hoped to create some ease from Visa Offices and reduce doing data entry time/ number of employees... Keep in mind though that at this point it isn't mandatory so you can still complete previous form if you rather nor fail to successfully complete this new i-tech form

AEO,

I am applying for myself (principal)and my husband. We do not have children yet, so that means I do not have to fill that Additional Dependant/declaration form.

Another silly question: Current country of Residence is USA from 2010-XX-XX to - Should it be the date I send my application or the date at which my US status expires?

Its amazing how many tiny questions pop up when you are trying to fill the form!

thank you AEO, you are so sweet :), thanks for your time and help.

welcome back ae03yy , just a reminder for QSW , buffalo processing time is the same for QSW and PNP and is the same for CSQ with priority and without and it's the same for residents of US or Canada and the average is 14 Months , it could be less and it could be more ,

for exp : I just talked with a freind of mine in montreal with CSQ priority got his visa in 12 months (federal only)

good luck for everyone and

keep smilin' ya :p

Remember, It's an average for 80% of applications. Some may be done at 30%, 50%, 70% of the process. Also, Buffalo may always forward your file to local/close CIC office for those in Canada to expedite processing and keep US applicants which will reduce backlog and further forward to other Visa Offices abroad like Detroit for the same reasons.

So, yeah US applicants might be processed faster or slower depending on who get your file(new/old agent), whether you get transferred, the complexity of your file, how fast you submit what they ask, and ultimately the BF'd and if your assigned agent feel like prioritizing your file. A friend of mine arrived months ago but applied within days prior to his classmate and yet they both were in the USA. Only his friend was GC holder but he landed in Jan and the said GC holder friend of his was still waiting last time we spoke on Canada day
