Congrats stanka. U cannot land at the airport unless u entered by taking an international flight. But you can complete ur landing procedure by land by doing flag poling which means you don't need any USvisa for it, just tell the American custom officer tht you don't want to enter in US and here for completing ur landing by flagpoling. They know this bcoz a lot of ppl do this and also CIC recommends this in case anyone don't hav US visa. Gud luck ;)
Thanks. I might try this. Hopefully I will not get arrested.)))) I had some troubles with americans before.))

You can make an appointment and any local office of CIC in montreal and make the landing there, this might take month and so based on the queue they have..
Oh no, I can't wait another month.)) I should check if there is CIC office in sherbrooke.

Finally, congratulations stanka!!! Did you receive your PPR directly from Buffalo or Detroit? Was it an email or a post mail?
Thanks.

Thx.:) My file stayed most of the time in Buffalo, so I received ppr from them.))) It was in the email.

Hello everyone

I'm new to this forum and learning about other's experiences was really comforting for me, as i realized I'm not alone in this process. I got the CSQ last summer and then applied to Buffalo under QSW category. and my time-line details are as follows;

Application received at buffalo consulate: 12th July 2011
AOR received: 25th November 2011
Request for medical : 25th November 2011
Medical done: 2nd December 2011

As of now (Feb 26th 2012) my e-cas status states:

Application received on july 12th 2011 &
medical results have been received.

Unlike what a lot of other people have written, my e-cas status does not have the: 'We have started the processing of your file on (xyz) date.'

1. At this point, should I be concerned about the lack of processing or should I just wait (sigh!)? Emailing buffalo-consulate is no use, eh?

2. I did not really start checking my status on E-Cas till a few weeks ago. Therefore, I do not know if my address used to appear earlier or not. Right now, there is no address appearing. just curious; What does 'address disappearing' signify?

Good luck to all of us. May the waiting be less :)

Hi Student 3000,

I applied on 25th July 2011, and I still do not have this status "we have started processing your file" I am thinking of E-mailing Buffalo regarding this.

Like you, I really hope there is nothing to be concerned about.

All the best!

Welcome on board...I have noticed many cases were finalized without having showing E-cas : 'We have started the processing of your file on (xyz) date". Also no harm in shooting an email to buffalo or you might order GCMS note to have clear picture of what is going on your file..

Good luck

I just want to share an info. regarding students in an ONTARIO educational institution and applied for PR. If your ecas status shows "IN PROCESS", you can change your status to PR at the school and avoid paying International fees, you can also get OHIP (Ontario Health Plan) and avoid paying the expensive equivalent UHIP. Get informed at your school.
This is only for the province of Ontario, I don't know about other provinces (especially QC).

Hello Everyone !

I have 2 questions:

1) How long normally takes for PR visa stamping on your passport, after you submit it to Buffalo ?
2) If you have applied for visitor visa in the meanwhile and it gets rejected, would it effect PR visa too ?

Thanks
