Hello Everyone,

We are also applicant from Feb, we received online test email from CIC. one of our family member is Outside of Canada for the next 3 months. we have not replied with 24-48 hours as stated in the email, we will be replying soon.

a) As per my understanding he can take the online exam from outside of Canada. do you know what to expect if someone has not replied early within 24-48 hours ? anybody in similar situation?
b) also other member can take the exam from inside Canada ? any issues? or all family members have to take exam from same place and around the same time?

Thanks your help

Hi friends, Any help or insight on this ?

You can take the citizenship test outside Canada but you need to email them about it.
I am not sure what happens if you do not reply to them in 48 hours. Ideally one should reply as soon as he/she sees the email. Not an expert in this, but I think your best bet is to reply asap & be transparent about him being abroad.

The 2 of you will take the test separately. It can be separate days, time and even place..

You can reply the the email from which you received the invitation to do the test. You need to wait now, untill they come back with an email you are approved for the outside canada test. Then you can complete your test. Once you are back to Canada, they will scedule an interview. My wife went through the same process and now waiting for an interview.

Hey all, can you update the spreadsheet for me please!

Prohibitions - Completed - August 3rd
Physical Presence - Completed - August 3rd
Language Skills - Completed - August 3rd

Citizenship Oath Ceremony - Scheduled - Sept 8th

Does anyone know if your ceremony invite comes in the mail or via email like everything else?

Hey all - online Applicant here. I'm starting to get anxious. My PR expires in November 2023. Can I renew it and still be waiting for my citizenship to process? This is taking a lot longer than I thought it would.

Eh, I think you’re in for a long wait. Did you really apply online, February 2022? The process now lasts around 24 months (or 27) and online apps are the last one to be processed.

Hey there, yes I did apply Feb 2022. I'm kinda thinking the wait may be longer than my PR is good for. Is it possible to renew and still be waiting for citizenship? And I'm guessing I should renew soon as I'm sure that's a long wait too. Anyone have ecperience with that?

Hello,

Don’t worry the majority of online applicants are processed in around one year. With online application the last step is the Citizenship Test which after you’ll get the oath letter.

You can apply for PR renewal maximum 9 months before the expiry, which is in your case at the beginning of May 2023.

Good Luck!

Of course it’s possible. as long you met the residency requirements, don’t worry!
