Hello everyone, has anyone’s application been returned for missing signature? I have some questions.

A friend of mine submitted her application in August and just got the application back for a missing signature as stated by IRCC.

Does she need to replace outdated documents? Eg police report
Also after resubmission, does the application process start afresh or continue from where it stopped. Eg is the timeline for the AOR shorter or the wait starts all over?

Please help
Here's the thing, as soon as they find something wrong they stop checking the application. So it's best to go over the whole application and update the forms etc because it is possible there are other mistakes / missing items that they simply didn't get to. I have seen the applications returned multiple times on some Facebook groups.

My timeline: Feb 6, 2020 application received, Feb 21, 2020 AOR 1, August 29, 2020 biometrics, September 2, 2020 SA, September 18, 2020 medical. In November my application was transferred to PA's country, and on December 7, 2020 they started to process the application (AOR2).

What is AOR 2?
Some visa offices send out a formal letter (email) stating they've received and will process, contact information, don't bother us, etc. Not a lot of content but it's 'in process.'

Important note: the gap between eg. Sydney office sending the notice that file has been transferred and AOR 2 can be long (much longer than you migth think in covid). It's not just physically sending the file, it's receipt and entry into file registry and being assigned and maybe more steps. YMMV. And also some visa offies may not send at all.

Sometimes posters here equate certain ecas / gckey steps like ghost updates to being 'same as' AOR2 (including for the tracker spreadhseet). That may or may not be true, outsiders probably do not know.

Also some processes/steps in covid time are not as consistent as before - so some step missing like aor2 does not always mean what it may have meant before.

That said, everyone likes any sign of progress.

My issue is I am in China with my wife, we applied outland. Our apartment contract ends in June. My app was received June 24th. Received AOR December 4th. I would love to see this done by June so I dont have to pay another six months rent.

Okay thank you. But I will assume the AOR should come faster as the application has already been reviewed.
