No one knows when and where you would get infected hence there is no safe travel either to Canada or to US.
ON has no waiting period if you are moving. If you are visiting then anyway you need to have travel insurance which would cover for it - whether its a pandemic or not.
Why would you get stuck in US since you are going to get negative report from India before boarding hence you can travel within 72 hours and cross the border as well.

If you are worried about the travel itself then you need to test the option of requesting cic to allow you to attend the exam from abroad. Decide soon and request since cic will take 2 weeks to respond.

Yeah I am a PR so there is no need for travel insurance when I come into Canada. Not sure if you were talking about that w.r.t. the waiting period.
And as @Das67 said, I would need to get an RT-PCR from the US before entering Canada as per the new requirements to close the loopholes.

Hi everyone, Me and my wife applied for the citizenship together in a single package back in Feb 2020. I received the invitation to appear for the online test today however my wife has not received any such communication? Has that happened with anyone else? We expected to receive the invitation at the same time given we applied together - but not sure what to think of this at this point. Will appreciate any guidance. Thank you in advance!

Is there anyone here who had to deal with the anxiety of taking the fingerprints and not hearing anything else from IRCC?
They requested my FP on 03/15, they were collected on 03/20 and RCMP confirmed they were sent on 04/07. After that, I haven't heard anything from IRCC.
Am I being paranoid to worry about it?

Unless you have something to hide, I wouldn’t be concerned. Everything is taking longer nowadays

They don't send any confirmation unless we specifically request it. Please send a web message to IRCC, they will reply back in two days.

Follow up. I attended my virtual citizenship ceremony on April 28 and took the oath Just waiting for my certificate to arrive now but I'm all done and officially a Canadian!

So how exactly does it work? I have an online test coming up in the next couple of weeks. Do they give the result right after and ask you take oath? Or does it take a while for them to schedule an oath day?

Depends on the application and officer. Usually either you move to interview (or) oath after test. Right now, the trend to complete the oath after test is around 45-90 days. Few offices are fast and few are slow, but avg. would be around 2-3 months. Good luck for your test.

It's kinda random. There are likely multiple immigration officers with their own lists. Within their lists they go in order but between different officers, there might be a difference in speed of going through their individual lists. That's my best guess.

I gave my online test today and boy was that difficult. Anyone who is writing test, please prepare from latest resources. I came across questions which were never part of my prep. Thankfully, I cleared them based on my past knowledge and some educated guesses.
