Hi All,

I am planning to apply for a job which requires Canadian Citizenship, can I request for urgent processing?? What documents they will be looking for?? Job offer letter??

Thanks
Nobody knows what is acceptable to be considered for urgent processing. Following this forum for like a year, i found out that most of urgent processing folks have a confirmed federal offer or a letter from HR from a dept in federal government saying that they are waiting on the citizenship petition before proceeding with the job offer.

Well, can't be right all the time but I said this on December 24th last year :

This is happening as exactly as predicted. If we get the pile of documents I have requested from IRCC via ATIP, we might be able to learn more about what they are doing to tackle the backlog and if (and when) they are planning on increasing the test invite volume.

My application (June 2020) has already been in IP since Dec 30th & I believe majority got their application in IP around that time as well. I wonder if it was because mine was a single application.

But just curious, when do you anticipate when June applicants will get their invite?

my wife's application reached on Feb 3,2020 and she received email for test in last week on Jan 21 and she has already passed test.

Is it normal processing?

Also have you added her to the tracker sheet here?

A friend applied in March and just reported that she got an invite for the test. Quebec.
I applied mid Feb and still nothing. Also Quebec. But I changed my citizenship while PR. Maybe that’s why.
Was it March 2020?

March 2020. Divorced with a kid. I believe at least with 1 dependent. So family I presume. Regular, not urgent.

Another friend found that IRCC prioritized
Canadians returning home
Vulnerable people
People who perform or support essential services.
She is in construction which is essential in Quebec. Maybe that’s the answer

Could be possible your friend is one of those people. Mind inquiring more? I mean, did she put any extra documentation or anything like that?

She sent regular application with no extra stuff.
I believe officer decided themselves to invite earlier based on job description in application.

Or maybe there was no logic at all and pure luck or something else.
Correct. Just luck. THe applicant got a cic worker who joined newly hence this officer is trying to handle the file quickly(or not following procedures hence not following the sequence) ;)
