Hi All,

For the personal history, CIC says this

Do not leave any gaps during this period and do not leave this section blank. If you do, your application will be returned to you.

My personal history looks like this

2016-05 - Present
2016-01 - 2016-05
2015-06 - 2015-12
2015-02 - 2015-06

For the 2nd entry, is there an issue with missing dates? Should the starting month of the entry always be the ending month of the previous entry?

Also for one of the entries, I was unemployed, but I forgot to mention the address details of when I was umemployed. I am 80% expecting my application to be returned. Should I get ahead of the issue and re-send the application?
There should be no gaps in your time history.. You should have mentioned 2015-12- 2016-05 in second line.. Employment or marital status has nothing to do with your citizenship status.. I am sure your application will be returned.. Apply again soon and save your time..

2015-12 to 2016-01 is a gap?

Anyway, no point debating as I missed the address - may as well re-send it. Can I resend without them asking me to re-send? I should contact them about it yes? How do they know to ignore the previously sent application?

yes dates should be the same from downwards to upwards leaving no gaps..

just resend the application with a cover letter.. It hapenned with a friend of mine. He had a time gap and realised it next month after pondering on it. He resent his application with a cover letter. His first application was returned back as incomplete and 3 months later got an AOR for his resent application

Hey what exactly was the scenario in case of your friend ?

I am in a similar situation but only for residence history not employment history.

In Q10a about residence history, i did not overlap the months (but no gap) e.g. 2016-09 to 2019-04 and then 2019-05 to present.

But in Q11 about employment history, i did overlap 2016-09 to 2017-05 and then 2017-05 to present

Do you think my application will be returned ?

You are absolutely fine. I did the same thing on my application for employment and residence. I received my AOR last month. Your application will be returned only if you have missed answering a question or some details are missing. Relax.

I believe just wait and see. Don’t overthink of it as, maybe your application goes with a reasonable agent. Relax and if they returned it, just complete and resend

Address details are for the "employer." If you were unemployed, there are no address details to be given.

Normally I would agree with you plus the question clearly says "Tell us when you filed your income taxes in last 5 years"

But I see applications here returned for the silliest of reasons to be honest. Anyway we will see I guess

to anyone who is wondering about this, i just got my AOR and I only put in 2014 to 2018 for the tax section (I submitted in January 2020)

Thats great to hear. I made another minor miss like not putting an address/city to when I was jobless and sitting at home so I'm 75% expecting a returned application. Fingers crossed tho

Do you think Covid19 would have an impact on the timeline ?
Till today it wont, as all office buildings are allowed to continue even in emergency, It might delay 1-2 weeks max in case if its a delay
