FSW-Outland here, still waiting for my COPR. Just Share my timeline here for reference.

1st VO: Ottawa 2nd VO: CIO
Country of residence: US
AOR-Jan 2020
As of today:
Eligibility, Criminality, Medical and Info sharing: Passed/completed
Security and HIRV: blanked out, unknown (with s15(1) mark)

According to recent GMSC:

Feb 2020- Program assistant eligibility pass
March 2020-Case proccessing agent eligibility pass
Nov 2020- Officer eligibility pass, then order CV/Gra Kit (I am a PhD student doing science reserach)
Nov 2020- Info blanked due to s15, I guess this is security start?
March 2021- Medical extended for another 12mo

So I guess now I just need to wait for Security clearance right? Anyone have any idea how long it may take for me to get COPR? Thanks!

Thanks for the note! Didn't expect it to have taken this long. Did you apply for the extension together with any dependents (e.g., spouse's work permit, child's visitor record) as well?

Yes, I applied for my spouse`s work permit as well.

Hi, guys, I really really need your advice please.
Dear, @legalfalcon please help me. =-=

My timeline is in the signature.

The problem is, my wife received the offer in Master degree from U of T last month, and she applied as a domestic student last year. But we still don’t have the COPR letter which the U of T admission needed.

So now we are stuck, I explained to IRCC and asked for my CoPR. Apparently, it doesn’t work. I guess, I have to apply for a gap year in U of T? Do you guys have a better solution?

Also, I’m thinking about whether I should do another PNP application ( OINP Human Capital Priorities stream ), do you think it might be faster than my current case? Is it really worth it? It costs a lot after all.

Hi @legalfalcon
I'm wondering if my understanding is correct that while applying for Bridging Open Work Permit (based on pending CEC application), we can include child dependent (who is on visitor record) in the same application as well? Or do I need to wait for my Bridging permit to be approved first, and submit the child depend's visitor record extension separately? Thanks!

BOPW is only for the PA.

However, you can file extensions for other family dependents along with the BOPW.

@legalfalcon can I submit a new visa application if my language test is expiring in 40days? Is the score’s validity only important the day I submit or for a few months later as well?

All documents should be valid as on the day when you submit your application. If your language score expires after you have submitted your application, it does not matter.

@legalfalcon I have a quick question I'm hoping you can help with. My WP expires 18 Nov and I'd like to apply for BOWP. I know one of the conditions is WP expiring in 4 months or less, do I need to wait for the 18th of July to apply or I can do it now? how strict is IRCC with the 4 months rule?

Thanks for your help

@legalfalcon : my aor is Feb 2020 and now I am on a ICT WP valid until Dec 1 2021 . I plan to go to India from Nov 1- Nov 25th . I would apply for extension but it might not come by then . Do you think I can return to Canada on Nov 25th ish based on my Valid Work Visa until Dec 1 2021? I am told some airport agents/ border officials in India / Canada might not allow me to board the flight to canada with just a week left on my visa but couldnt find anything like that on CIC website

Thanks

You have to follow the criteria. If you do not meet the criteria, IRCC may reject your application and it will take them a few weeks to you inform you and then you will have to do it all over again.

You need a valid visa and permit. If you have then. you can return. If not, then you will have to apply form the country of your residence.

Thank you, I was just wondering if their criteria for 4 months is July--Nov (in which case I could apply now respecting it) or 18 July - 18 Nov (when WP expires) in which case I could not apply now.

You can get into technicalities, it does not help. July 18 is just a week and 3 days away. So I am not even sure how 10 days will benefit you.
