Thank you for your answer, but it is still not clear to me whether they would send you CoPR directly (through the portal) based on your country of residence or on the country you are physically in at the moment.
If I am in Canada as a tourist my country of residence is still USA: would they send me the CoPR directly OR would they ask for a copy of the passport and then mail a CoPR at the address of residence?

If you move to Canada, you will have to change your country of address and provide your address to IRCC. IRCC will act upon the address they have on file. However, if your COR was US, then even if you do not update your address, when you receive a request to submit your passport, you can inform IRCC that you are in Canada, and your COPR will be processed accordingly.

@legalfalcon Hello Legal falcon, my passport is expiring in 6.5 months, do I need to renew it now or I can still wait a bit longer? I meant if my passport is less than say 5 months, will IRCC stop processing or then actually stop processing when the passport totally expires? Thanks.

Thank you for your answer, it is clearer now. Do you know how are things like "accompanying goods" and "good to follow" handled if CoPR is issued directly?

The processing does not stop due to an expired visa. However, for IRCC to issue you a COPR / PR visa (if you are not from a visa exempt country), the Pr visa / COPR cannot be issued for a validity beyond the validity of your passport. This is what it is important to have a valid passport on file.

If your visa is expiring within the next 6 months, then you should get it renewed. This will help you get a PR visa / cOPR with maximum validity.

Once you renew your passport, you can send a copy of the biographical pages to IRCC via webform.

Does anyone have any idea if usually having the medical extended (with extension showing up on portal) implies security and criminality are passed? I.e medical is the last step and if extended it means everything else is passed? Thanks

I had medical extended with criminality in progress and security not started, so I would say no, extended medical does not imply anything else.

Sydney,
I don't know what to do my file is stuck at security not started AOR is March 26, 2020 BCPNP
medical renewed as per call but not updated on portal.
Similar thing here . Was asked to do remed this Feb . And updated remed reports at the end of Feb . Just received my gcms notes , file not touched since then . Looks like FSW are all on hold ? Only process CEC now ?

so if my passport has only 5 months validity, they can still issue COPR/pr visa. But I can't travel because passport is less than 6 months validity. I just want to know that, thanks.

You may be issued a visa and you can travel, however, the validity of the visa cannot be beyond the validity of your passport. You may get a very limited time depending on when the visa is issued. Also, at the officer's discretion that may ask you to get your passport renewed, which may add time to your processing.

Good morning I logged in to see application updated but clicked on it ...it then goes to bad gate way

What is your previous application status and your AOR?

Hi All,

My COR is US, Indian citizen ,FEB 23 AOR, PNP -O, I received the Passport request email today to submit the passports. Strangely the passports are requested to be sent to an office in Ottawa ,ON rather than a US address.
@legalfalcon , is this normal to have a request to send passport outside the COR?

For US residents CPC Ottawa is the LVO.
