Are they making fun with lives of Express Entry Candidates. Currently they are prioritising student files. Are we not humans? It has been more than 1 year we are waiting for PPR. This is ridiculous. Is it our fault they have backlog

No updates on where file is? What is current status? They are playing with future of PR aspirants? what a discriminating and racism decision to give priority to students.

Please God help us. somebody please tell them that humans are getting stressed. Students are getting applications processed in 10-12 weeks and PR candidates are waiting for more than 1 year...........and wait is still going on............

Is there any way we can reach out to them? Because webform and calls sucksssss. Most are the applications are waiting just final approval and if for second we can think that they are delaying their application to avoid covid situations then who are students who are going there and entering the country. Are they not spreading covid? Are only PR applicants vulnerable to covid?

I understand your pain and anxiety and I am in the same situation as you, waiting for the pr for nearly a yr now. All we could do now is to hope that this pandemic could be contained and the border will be reopened this summer. Hopefully, the CIC will start processing the Outland backlogs at that time and we will get some good news.

I can't wait mate.......there are so many plans in future which depends on this..........and they are not understanding situation of people....... its painful

Greetings @caipsnotes
Your help is much appreciated

Let’s say that only my medicals will expire on 01/01/2021 (while security and criminality will remain valid).
The GCMS i ordered was generated on 25/10/2020 before my med expiration and it shows a “Final: Approved” status.

If I ordered a GCMS note after my medical expiry date and knowing that the officer hasn’t yet either extend my old one nor request a new one...what would be its “Final” status? Will it remain “Final: Approved”? Or it will be “Final: Blank” since my medicals are no longer valid and no further extension/remed decision was made yet?

Thanks a lot!!

Hi. If your GCMS notes shows that your application has been Approved (on Page 2 of GCMS under the Assessment section), then it indicates that all the stages have been passed. However, if the Status (see on Page 1 of GCMS) is still Open, then the PPR request has not been issued. If an Approved application is Closed before PPR then it has to be reopened before a final review can be done again. That's the important thing that the application remain Open until PPR is issued.

Can you explain this part? In which cases will an application be closed?

My current GCMS notes (which were generated before the date of my medical expiry) shows a "Final: Approved" status and when the approval was done, my medicals were still valid.
As of today, my medical had expired. I called IRCC and they told me that the officer hasn't decided yet whether to extend my medicals, nor to request a new medical.
If I order a new GCMS today, will it shows also "Final: Approved" even with my medicals become expired? Or since it's expired, the GCMS system will automatically writes "Final: (Blank)" after my medical expiry date?

Thanks a lot!

@legalfalcon your advice required please.

Should I inform IRCC about the change of address of my non-accompanying spouse and children?
My all stages are passed, and I am waiting for PPR. I live in other than my home country. Now, my family is permanently going to shift in home country, but my address is same as old. Is this mandatory to raise a webform for change of address of non-accompanying applicants.

Not required for non accompanying dependents.

An application is closed after issuance of a COPR or if an application has been refused and the applicant has been notified of the same

My application has been approved since September of last year and COPR numbers had also been issued without PPR. Can you confirm that application has been closed? If yes, is this why meds have not been updated since expiry in January of this year? Also the passport of one of my dependents is expiring in April (currently in the process of renewing it) and IRCC hasn’t contacted me about renew it at all. Will submitting the new passport reopen my application if it was indeed closed?

Thanks in advance for your valuable insight @caipsnotes

Once the PP is renewed you should inform IRCC via web form. If the medical results are about to expire or have expired then you may be asked for a re-medical examination, if required. If a re-med is not required then the medicals will be extended. At the final stage IRCC will check if your medicals and passport are still valid. Before PPR is sent the details of an applicant's COPR, its expiration and the PR visa are input into the GCMS system. The COPR and PR visa cannot be issued by IRCC beyond the validity of the applicants passport or medicals, whichever expires first.

@legalfalcon under new public policy i will be extending for my work permit. when i start my process i have to go through the questionnaire, one of the tricky question i came across is ; "are you accompanying a spouse or common law partner that has a status in Canada ?" i am confused should i say yes or no to this question as i have been earlier on PGWP and my spouse got the OWP as a accompanying, so should i say yes or no as i am the principle applicant and he will again have to apply under accompanying spouse.
