Mine isn't even labelled as Covid Pace and it still hasn't been touched since 3rd of March 2020!!!I think that's because we were labeled as "Covid pace". My file has not been touched since May 2020.

Thanks for sharing the details. Did you got to know till when your medical has been extended?Ottawa VO, Jan 23 2020 AoR, FSW-O
The only change was the “you do not need a medical exam..” it previously had the passed date. Well the last IRCC around 22 dec was security. It started. So I can understand what you’re saying that if the file is still in process they would have to extend their t ask fir remeds for validity sake. Also would you know if approved files show any change in medical status? I’ve been told those with approved files don’t show a change in medicals . I don’t know if that makes sense. Thanks @legalfalconIt could very well be that your meds have been extended. However, med extension does not make the file processes any later. IRCC has to keep meds valid when the file is being processed and the meds have to be valid when your land in Canada after your application is approved.
Did you see any changes in the MEP status on your MyCIC account.
It does not matter whether you file is approved or not, the question is have you received your COPR or not. Many applications have "approved" in their GCMS notes, but the application is open, see the status on page 1 of your GCMS.The only change was the “you do not need a medical exam..” it previously had the passed date. Has your medicals expired or when is it expiring?Got my 4th GU that medical changed to "You do not need a medical exam".Endless waiting continues.
I think expired alreadyHas your medicals expired or when is it expiring?
Oh ok I see what you mean. My notes say open, but then again their a little over 3 months old. But thank you I understand now .It does not matter whether you file is approved or not, the question is have you received your COPR or not. Many applications have "approved" in their GCMS notes, but the application is open, see the status on page 1 of your GCMS.
If the status is open, then your meds can be sent for reassessment and that will determine if it will be extended or you will be asked for re-meds.
My AOR is 3rd FEB 2020 and my file wasn't touched since 3rd March 2020 but i got ghost update on 6th Jan 2021 and background changed to ''we are processing your background check''. I called the IRCC and they said my eligibility, criminality and security is passed and my secondary office they added Neywork Office. @legalfalcon i wanted to check with you why my secondary office changed to New York office. My CoR is USA ( New York) is the golden email coming anytime soon. Appreciate your inputs @legalfalcon
This is quite normal. Background check is a generic term for criminality check, security screening and information sharing. As the applications moves through these stages the message on my CIC changes too. It's a good sign.I got ghost update few days ago and noticed that my Background check changed from "We are processing your background check. We shall contact you if we need more information" (which has been the message for months) to "Your application is in progress. We will send you a message when we start your background check"..
@legalfalcon and @caipsnotes, pls can you help with clarification..
