Hey guys,

The was a change in document checklist.

Old one:
Proof of Contact: Provide letters, printed text messages, emails or social media conversations, or other documented proof of
contact between you and your sponsor. Provide a maximum of 10 pages with your application.Translations of these
documents are not required at this time. If we need translations, we will request them from you.

New one:
Proof of Contact: Provide letters, printed text messages, emails or social media conversations, or other documented proof of
contact between you and your sponsor. Provide a maximum of 10 pages with your application. You must provide certified
translations in either English or French of all proof of contact documents that are not already in English or French.

I did not translate my messages as it said in document checklist. Now i am worried

Thank you for the message, good catch. We did the translations, but we did them on our own (not certified), just as a good will. Anyway, we all applied with the previous version of the checklist, so no need to worry, they won't return an application just because of that. In any case even the old checklist was saying "If we need translations, we will request them from you" as you mentioned above.
For sure, all these changes don't make me feel better and I don't really want them to request the translations, since it's a lot of money, time and a real hassle to upload them through GCKey. But I've never actually heard about the cases when they requested translations. I do hope we'll be fine.

can anyone help please , how to check in ECAS, i have not received AOR yet,
you cant check ecas yet without receiving AOR. Once you recieve it will contain the given application and UCI number which then you can check E-cas.

Hii guys ive read through all the messages on this blog, im applying for my husband and i put in my application late february, i havnt heard back from anyone regarding anything yet, is there anything i should be worried about? Most people that i spoke to recieved their AOR within two weeks resassuring me that the process is fairly quick now? How long do you guys belive itll take for my husband who lives in india to hear anything back from from immigration canada?

You’re looking around the 50 day mark at the moment - from the date CIC received the application. It’s nowhere near two weeks unfortunately.

Thats a bummer to hear...thanks anyway..anyone have any good ideas on how to keep your mind off of thinking about the applixation? Lol

A few ideas for you:
  • Add yourself to the tracker: Spousal Tracker
  • Browse the forums and get to know your fellow users, have a chat with the people who've applied the same month as you.
  • Religiously check ECAS with your receipt number and details: https://services3.cic.gc.ca/ecas/security.do
  • Sleep and eat.
  • Again, religiously check ECAS with your receipt number and details.
  • Rinse and repeat all of the above till AOR comes and then rejoice!

Hi. Is the receipt number to be used in checking ECAS is from the receipt when an applicant pays for the processing fee and RPRF?Thanks.
