Do u have gckey do u check ur application online if u do it should say there if they r working on ur background check and since when they started ?

Review of eligibility and background check have been in progress since closer to beginning of November. Thats when I remeber them changing- it doesnt specify when they started.
And security check hasn’t started, I called and asked they said it hasnt even started. Do you know when that even starts roughly?

It should say process from progress then that’s when they actually starts it ...
There’s no estimation for that it could start anytime ...
In my case I applied in March 2019
It started in April 2019
I got ghost update in aug 2019 I called ircc they said security was started and criminality was passed

Whats a ghost update?
His criminal record was passed, biometrics passed, medical is technically passed - just waiting for them to process the results. And all thats left is eligibility and background checks. I called the mp’s office here in Manitoba just to have her check since his paperwork is in Beirut processing (which is normal I hear) she said his criminal record is complete and passed, they havent started the security yet.

Ghost update is when u get application updated on gckey but u don’t see any movement but in real they open ur file and start doing something

Is there a way to find out this ghost update? Lol sorry definitely a newbie

im super frustrated, and they I guess hear this a lot but damn, my husbands living situation is getting worse. There is violence everywhere and he’s a paramedic so its his job to get in and help who he can, and i hate that I’m safe, and that he’s risking his life. I just wish he were here

I would say bring all the proofs you can gather (if they can be in the language of the VO itself , not needing translation) that are "extra" means not yet evaluated, just in case :Recents converations , proofs of contacts (visits boarding passes, letters) and so on. Don't present them unless you are asked but bring them as an supplementary help. Is what i would do.

I would send them a message (to VO) via Webform to confirm reception of the documents at least so your case is not put on stand by cause of this and that you guys have provided all they needed.

My husband is a citizen already and he came to see me once after our wedding as well, I don't know why it took this much time . Please advise me

Who knows... went 7th times there overall , we got married in Sept 2018 , and applied in feb 2019 (time to gather infos,prepare forms and all) so is now a year and half and we talk everyday so....

i'm arriving from there , passed a week at holidays Dec 26th to Jan 2nd so.

If i knew... my 12 months is finishing on Feburary 2020 too and we are still at Mexico VO.

So my only hypothesis is they totally lack of staff to be on time , then when you get lucky you pass fast... when you aren't is longer... depending of the agent pace of work.

Are you a Quebec case?

AOR1 was February 1st
Biometric April 30th..
Since then,no medical yet..When I require for information they sent me a note that I have been put on interview queue and I should wait until the decide the date..I am so confused and troubled ..I will hit my 12 month mark in February 1st

No interview needed at the moment. I dont even have gotten news from Mexico since the transfer so lol
