Nothing we can do... Have a beer.... is the best i can suggest. If they decided to put it to London.. thats gonna be it. Im frustrated too with Mexico but seems is the reality. Some nations have the chances to pass directly to Missisauga and some is not the case. Shall rules be reviewed ? According to me yes, but i don't think they gonna do any changes.

I am sponsoring my husband from Turkey.
My application was received on February 4, 2019 at the Sydney visa office.
Last update I received was that his application was transferred to the Ankara Visa Office in Turkey.
Since then we’ve just been waiting for the next update and haven’t heard anything in the past two months.
How long is the process for Ankara office?

And once he gets his passport stamped at the Ankara visa office, does his file get transferred to the Mississauga visa office for processing or he’s able to come to
Canada with that? What’s the next steps after decision is made and his passport is requested?

Once your husband passport is stamped, he can come to canada with that. This is last step in your application.

The person will need COPR confirmation letter to do the soft landing if he want to enter as a permanent resident, unless he wants to have to leave Canada (per example to USA) and enter back as PR when he gets the letter. ( a lot of ppl does that..still for the time it takes to get COPR after the stamp and all.. i would wait.)

Canadian citizen sponsor, common law wife in say Laos, file is in Singapore, medicals successfully completed
Earlier this month , biometrics were done in April. Other than that our file is pretty empty.

We have received a request for her passport and two new (additional) photographs , to be brought to our vac within 30 days, for forwarding to Singapore. We have also been offered prearrival services. It says that it isn’t an approval, but it is one , isn’t it? We live upcountry, my wife has many children to take care of, can she send her passport, forms and photos and fees to the capital for a friend to submit to the vac?

It is of some importance to me what time frame to land is offered to us. Most important , my Canadian citizen son has medical appointments in November. Also important , is my three Canadian citizen children — I would like to register them for school for the balance of this year, in the next few days. Also, grandma has not been well and a dear friend of seventy years has just passed, it would be great to visit her for Christmas.


Anyone have any idea what time frame I should expect, and how and when we might communicate our preferences?

Well if you already have PPR | DM | COPR shall be soon.. expect a few weeks maximum usually.

For the VAC restriction on who's presenting the documents.. i don't know you should call there i guess.

You really don't get to communicate your preferences. Imagine how that would complicate the process. Sounds like you're close (weeks) given what's happened on your file so far. Don't expect anything to show up online. Just keep checking your email.

Hi Everyone,

I submitted the file to sponsor my wife from India as a PR on Feb 1st, 2019. The Medicals were done and passed in April, Biometrics were done early June after which the file was transferred to New Delhi Visa Office and we received AOR 2 update in ECAS on June 26th. There has been no update since then and the background check shows in progress.

Based on the estimates, how long should it take after AOR 2 as already almost a month has passed.
