February 2014 PNP applicant that already submitted their application to NS CIO

Called CIC today and the call centre agent was just not helpful at all. It was as if she has been expecting my call, she asked me some few questions evev without going through my file and she told me she is sure nothing has been done on it since the last time CIC requested for copies of my new passports.

I just called CIC as well. Agent was kinda better that all the previous ones. This is what he said -

1. All checks are complete on the file.
2. Medical expired but they will either extend or ask for new medicals - medical update on file takes 2 months. ( Now i am not sure 2 months from expiry of medical or what?)
3. File has moved back and forth between Ottawa and Sydney. Currently in Sydney. He said its in the final stages.
4. And obv, call back in July when you complete 17 months.

So basically it could come anytime from now to 2 months from now ( hopefully). ???

Wanna hear something funny? when i called CIC and I also talked to a nice agent who told me that my file was still in NS...and i decided that nothing would happen that week, but next day i checked ECAS and saw decision made...

That's great!

I just checked mine... nothing yet.

Well atleast you got a proper response from the agent. Most of us are just told its "in process" with no other info. I was told my file is approved and in Ottawa like 3 months back...when I called last week - i was told file is in Sydney. Did you ever get your GCMS notes?

I am a Feb 7, 2014 applicant too.

I've been told several times from different agents that it's 'in process' only. So, I was surprised when I talked to this nice guy. Actually, there was one more nice lady when I phoned in Feb. She told me I passed all checks and that I should expect their email soon. She even congratulated me. It makes me think... maybe she was joking
Same for you... how can they say your file is in Ottawa and next time in Sydney?!

Yes, I've got my notes. Security is blank and on old notes from Dec 2014 it says 'not started'. That means I passed security.
There's one more thing... on notes from Dec 2014 'Other Reqs' is blank and on new notes it says ' not started'. I don't know what does that mean.

I guess we're in the same boat.

I got email from Sydney today. First I thought I got Copr, but they are replying on my email from Feb 10, when I inquired about my application status. They say... ' Your application is currently under review. You will be contacted in due course. We appreciate your patience and ask that you keep correspondence with our office to a minimum etc...'

They were really fast to give me response after 2 and half months.

Kinda shocked that some of Feb applicants havent got COPR yet..keep up guys
Just would like to know has anyone received actual PR card ? I landed on March 3th still no PR card..
My coworker landed the next day and already received actual PR card..

I am waiting for my passport with visa 8) CanadaPost lost my passport for 3 days - nobody knew where the package was - just CanadaPost processing error on their website. It was finally delivered to CPC on April 20th

How long does the back ground check take? I called the agent today and they told me that my file is in NS and background checks are going on. They told me the same thing in Nov last year.

Does anyone knows what due date on gcms notes means? I got notes at the start of april and it said Due Date; april 24 and its 24th today, But my status never changes.

Does anyone knows anything about due date ??

There is a due date for many things like eligibility, madical, security ....i think that's the due date for security check....

hello everyone
14 months over now since applied for PR.I hope this wait will be over soon for all of us whose waiting for PPR.
I have a question if anyone can answer. I was applying for extension for work permit. Its regarding imm5802 form (employemnt offer form + compliance fee $250), question is at the and of form my employer said he dont need to sign on it. if anyone get the same form , can you please check if your employer signed on it?

17 months - that's the time, that's the target they are working towards. if your application is not processed within 17 months then you can ask for an explanation. I am sorry, but i wouldn't compare CIC with a restaurant....I understand your frustration, but your turn will come - I was waiting for 14 months.

I didn't compare, I just gave a simple example to explain the situation and I believe %99 of the applicants who is waiting for a very long time think the same as me . You were waiting for 14 months, I'm waiting more than 14 months, so why my waiting time should be more than yours? All I'm trying to say there should be a standardization. But express entry system made everything upside down. All their focus on express entry right now. So there is nothing to do except waiting.

Timeline as follows.

We received your application for permanent residence on March 5, 2014.
