i’m getting very hard time now days,

I applied for close work permit 7th of jan( wp expired on 24 jan), i called cic two weeks ago regarding about the status of work permit, cic agent said to me that ur work permit has been refused so i asked to her that what the reason? she said the officer says that u applied for open work permit, i said to her no i didn’t apply for open one, she said i have no idea about that. the officer will send you the letter regarding this.
even though i talk to my lawyer about this he said that we did not applied for open work permit.
Can i take any action if there is any mistake from cic side?

ya bro i was very upset and still i'm that why.
i think yes only for four years, agent told me that the officer says that u applied for open work permit you are not eligible for that, but i didn't applied for that i applied for close one
i think now my pr is in danger zone i guess.

Called CIC today - the guy was nice but not really helpful ;D
It can happen anytime - no additional docs required, my file is still in NS. My work Permit expires in June, he said i can wait till may and then apply for extension.

Hi BCvannom - not sure if you've already got your PPR or something like that (I sincerely hope so) but I wouldn't wait until May to apply for an extension to a WP that expires in june. The current processing time is about 2 months for the online application - and given CIC's track record that may change without notice. Just a friendly heads up from another guy in the same boat.
My Post Grad WP expires in June and I applied for its extension two days ago. Hopefully I will not need it.

Hi patwal you should called ainp if your ainp nominee they will gave you a supporting letter regarding with your wp application because its either you reach the maximum 4 years or you did apply for a bowp we did that and my wife has been called by the ainp manager they fax a letter that we should include on our wp application or bowp since she is a close wp currently we are implied while waiting for pr decision the 17th month would be july

medical done 7th august
wife medical done 8th august(in india)
Medical recieved 21st august
wife spousal open work permit applied on jan 03 2015
got work permit visa on feb 9th 2015
wife arrived in canada 24th feb
rprf request 5th feb 2015
in process 18th march
dm : skipped
passport request april 7 , 2015
Send passport within 15 minutes
hopefully passport will come back in 15 to 20 days
thanks to my parents who prayed for me everyday n my wife n my dear god.....finally i got pr and expect stable life now....thanks to all member for post their information here.

sorry to hear about you satuation. i dont think so your PR file in danger zone. they will send you ppr without knowing about status.ok you dont have any status now ..we have to reapply again with restoration fee which is 200 doller to restore status. its a 2 months process again. i would suggest you talk to your nominee for revision of you Work permi file if they can connect with CIC. i dont know if its possible to do landing without having any status in canada if we dnt have status then what r other options? like we have to go to home country and come back in canada by air for landing.

thing is i haven’t received any letter form cic. I’m entered in Canada July 7 2011. I think the reason why they refused work permit coz of 4 years law( just guessing), bro if i get refusal letter then can i ask a supporting letter from BC pnp?
