Finally a permanent resident.

FYI, when i got my COPR and passport back i got an information sheet that said principal applicant's visa cannot be issued until the dependant's have received their visas (true for cases where you have requested visa stamping in a separate visa office for your dependent). So, if some of you are waiting for you to get your passports back and requested visa stamping for your dependents in a different country, the delay must be due to the other visa office which is yet to issue visa for your dependents. In my case, my visa was issued within 5days of me sending passport to ottawa but i did not receive my passport back until my spouse's passport was returned by visa office back home. The information sheet also says your dependents can not become PR before you become PR

Congrats!! This is why we had my gf's sons passport here - so we can send both at the same time; which would allow us to flagpoll first then go get him.

Hi All!

My AOR was Feb 06 2014, my meds expire April 7.

Does anybody know how PPR is delivered - do they email or is it by regular snail mail?

thanks!

Email - it was titled "Ready for Visa" - make sure you are checking your spam folder as well as a lot of people report it showing up there.

Thanks! I updated my email rules to not allow anything from .gc.ca to go to spam.

I went through BC PNP and applied direct to CIO NS. I've read that the application transfers to Ottawa in some cases, is that true of PNP?

So I called CIC this afternoon and the call center agent was very nice to me at least, she told me my application looks good and that I will hear from them very very soon. I tried to understand the real meaning of "very very soon" and she said on or before April I should get an email from CIC. She also told me to always check my email and most important, my spam because there has been cases where PPR were sent and the recipients did not know because it went directly to the spam box.

Guys, PPR is coming our way soon, just believe :D ;D ;) :P

Its kinda weird you are yet to get PPR despite the approval of your file. I would suggest you keep calling CIC to know the reason for the delay since your file has been approved.

I called today and got a very vague "yep, it's just still processing..."

not very encouraging.
Ya it depends on the agent..some are nice and some are just so vague..like even if you try to find out more details, they say just wait.. ???

Yeah next time I am going to quote that. Also i cant make any firm travel plans because the PPR can come any day...such a hassle.

It really sucks to shelve one's plans because of the long wait that is not even sight :'(

I hope we are in teh same batch because im tired and sick of this wait. My application is still In process and it feels like it'll never end. It's been more than 15 months actually.

Got my Passport back today....so almost done.
Going for a border crossing very soon.... :) :) :)
