She can't apply anymore for BOWP as her permit expired.
We will see if she'll get her status restored but in my opinion I doubt it.
Worst thing is CIC will order her to leave the country.

A lawyer and also cic agent had suggested I apply for the restoration only so hopefully I will have the temp status to get me trough till my pr comes!

I am January 24, 2014 applicant, still no IP, DM, and PPR. Looks like who got in process on October 2nd, 2014 got PPR email this week. No one skip IP yet, so seems like I have to wait long time

I would suggest you to research by reading more instead of listening what everybody writes here, including me, although normally when I give my opinion, it is because I have read about it sometime somewhere on the CIC website... I think this link is very clear about it...

I disagree, I think that is not quite correct, although it is true that they could refuse the application for restoraion..

You disagree in which part getting the BOWP or restoring her status?
You have to take note that her permit was expired since October 2014 and its now Jan 2015.
It's conditional if her status will be restored. I doubt it too but considering that she has an existing PR application under PNP her status might be restored as a tourist.
She can't apply for BO work permit either as one of the requirements of it is she must hold an unexpired work permit.
